Have you ever experienced what some people call a “sign” or a strange feeling when someone in your family is about to pass away?
I experienced something like this when I was in Grade 6—the same day my father died.
That day, I felt something very strange. I was restless and uneasy, and my mind felt so far away, as if I was thinking about something but I couldn’t figure out what it was. Even my heartbeat felt different. I was nervous for no reason.
I remember telling one of my classmates, “I don’t know why, but I have a strange feeling. It feels like something bad is going to happen.”
When I went home at lunchtime, my older brother told me that he was feeling the same way. He also felt restless and uneasy.
Then, something unexpected happened. A glass suddenly broke right in front of us. At that time, it was just me and my brother in the house. We were the only two people there.
We simply ignored it, but deep inside, I couldn’t shake the feeling that something wasn’t right.
Later that afternoon, we received the news that our father had passed away.
Since then, I’ve also experienced something I can’t easily explain. Whenever a relative passes away, I sometimes notice the smell of flowers or candles, even when I don’t know that someone has died.
Maybe there is an explanation for these experiences, or maybe they are simply memories connected to the people we love. I don’t know for sure.
But one thing I know is that the experience I had on the day my father died is something I will never forget.

I've been quite busy lately, and most of my time goes into feeding my youngest. She takes forever to finish a meal because she'd rather play than eat. Sometimes I feel like snack time is just around the corner by the time she's done with breakfast or lunch. LOL!
I'm just patiently taking my time feeding her because she gets so distracted by playing. I'm also a little worried because I feel like she's not gaining much weight. She's super active and incredibly talkative, even though most of the time, we can barely understand what she's saying.
