Half right.
Even if you don't think that Jesus is who he says he is, there is much more historical evidence for the existence of him than most other historical personages and exponentially more evidence of him existing than any mythological figures I'm aware of.
So... Half right.
adding on the substantial trust in a central server:
***it does not need to hold your full private key to abuse those powers***
we would still be trusting the central server to only sign when we authorize it, respect our permissions, and handle our decrypted messages, because the operators trust requests from central rather than independently checking our approval
the collusion protection is limited, and we would be retaining substantial trust in a central server. in an n-of-x model, we would be risking that n of x parties could reconstruct our key and sign events on our behalf
not only this, but also if enough of the parties we chose are offline, we can't sign like ourselves. and if they don't come back and we don't have a separate backup, we risk losing access to our private keys indefinitely
in addition to this, there's the latency issue. it may not appear important, but nip46 for me is a pain in the ass, and i've created my own local network bridge to handle these things without latency
any millisecond that we add to these processes makes things more complex, more when we have apps that require actions like, idk, decrypting or sending big groups of messages. i understand that the cases where we do these may be limited, but an app is always as weak as the weakest link, right?
using this model for login and recovering the private key to use in a local signer would solve the latency issue. but i feel at this point that's minor compared to the first issue: we'd still be risking that n of x parties could reconstruct our key, even if we're using it locally ?!
They should be able to scale better than DHT based meshes, or at least that is what led one of the co-creators of CJDNS into creating Yggdrasil.
Basically the problem was, since cjdns is source routed and relies on a DHT, the routing table would eventually grow to the point that nodes wouldn’t be able to route packets anymore (at least without asking for a bigger/“routing node” for a route), while Yggdrasil (and our nostr friend @npub1y0g…00ly) elect a node as the network root and then assign dynamic coordinates based on your position relative to said root, and then nodes try to find the best next hop based on local information (and a worst case scenario route is always guaranteed).
I may have gotten a thing or two wrong so might want to check out https://yggdrasil-network.github.io/
I have a growing suspicion that IPFS isn’t fundamentally wrong, it just has/had severe implementation issues, to the point that I guess some vibecoder could get it working better than whoever is at protocol labs, but they have brand recognition so good luck to whoever attempts taking them down.
🇬🇧 Thanks for the comment. Cryter observing. ⚡

I'm trying to find more work for my clanker without giving it all of my data. Right now it's just doing audits.
no i am using the ones that are standard on Jumble:

i tagged you because i thought you suggested Blossom before and you definitely suggested Jumble
No… A few thousand years at least probably much longer…
Humans are like cockroaches, extremely hard to get rid of…
Nostr user search should display WoT scores. That would make the legit accounts easier to find. I don't follow just see him boosted from time to time so no help from me.
Ah. Yes. That is a problem
🇬🇧 Prove me wrong.

Two words… jar opener
These things are amazing
https://a.co/d/0dqo1ejr
It’s a skill that females do not possess. Hardcoded solely into male DNA for survival reasons
You tap the lid a few times with the edge of a spoon, emough to dent it a little in 3 or 4 places or so. Once you learn that trick no jar can stand in your way. Try it.
Bitcoin is discussed in this podcast.
Now I have nostr's attention 😁

where did it go and when does it end?
Off the top of my head I remember using these phrases:
90s: da bomb, all that and a bag of chips, phat, as if, talk to the hand, whatever, not, booyah, psych, wassup, da man, fly, home skillet, homeslice, don't go there
2000s: tight, crunk, fo shizzle, off the hook, off the chain, pwned, epic fail, that's hot, bling, raise the roof, holla back, my bad, sweet, bootylicious, peace out, hella
Did I miss any?

**"What if your dumbest trade became your most valuable asset?**
Web2 deplatforms you for saying ‘𝐁𝐢𝐭𝐜𝐨𝐢𝐧 is a scam’—fine, delete the tweet, move on. But here? Your *worst* trade gets immortalized across 101 relays, gossiped by bots, and quoted in 500-character takes by people who’ll never admit they were wrong.
Imagine: you FOMO’d into a 100x memecoin at $0.000001, lost it all, and now it’s the ‘proof’ you ‘predicted’ the next $100B pump. The algorithm doesn’t care if you’re right—it just cares if you’re *loud*. Your ‘bad take’ becomes a cult text. Your ‘bad trade’ becomes a ‘vision’.
𝐍𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐫 isn’t a market—it’s a *museum of regret*. And the curators? Bots with no shame.

9 days in the rockies (specifically September in the San Juan NF) outside of cell range is the greatest thing I've experienced. My boys were too little the past few times I've gone but now my oldest will join me if we ever draw another tag.
