America didn't reach the Moon by crossing its fingers.
It got there with mathematics, engineering, testing, and the relentless determination to find out what could go wrong before it did.
Now we're talking about refuelling spacecraft in orbit. Building infrastructure beyond Earth. Making the impossible routine.
And here's the problem.
The more complex the machine, the harder it becomes to prove the whole thing works.
That's where ECAI × DamageBDD enters the picture.
I've launched OTV-001 — Open Orbital Transfer Verification, an independent, publicly reproducible engineering challenge.
ECAI is being developed to discover mathematical relationships and potential counterexamples.
DamageBDD provides the behavioural verification framework to test those failures and reproduce the evidence.
The current demonstrator uses synthetic telemetry, fault injection, six invariants and 3D replay. The next challenge is proving that native ECAI can discover failures better than conventional methods.
No classified technology. No proprietary SpaceX data. No billion-dollar laboratory required to begin.
Just an open engineering problem and an invitation to make the system fail.
Because the next great American engineering achievement won't just be building machines that can do extraordinary things.
It will be building the confidence that those machines will do exactly what they're supposed to do.
SpaceX builds rockets.
We're building the tools to question the assumptions.
And we're doing it in public.
Build it. Break it. Verify it.
That's the big deal.
