No joke, this is how addition was introduced to me in the early/mid 1980's. They called it "touchpoint math," and it worked fairly decently as a mechanism to memorize addition and subtraction tables.

Well the more sloppy things gets the more likely you'll get tired of it, this is where short videos fit: it's sloppy but you won't get time to think "this sucks, time to switch off", instead you likely enter a gambler-like loop of seeking to compensate, will doomscroll for the fun you'll never find until you're depleted of mental energy.
It’s interesting if you’re really into defi, but for some reason don’t want to use Ethereum. I don’t really see the point.
Which is natural, there's not much room left to grow further, the only thing that's likely to "grow" nowdays is the target for grinding which will sloppy everything.

I don't think nostr is a fail because there's few people here, nostr is just part of the wild internet and the truth is normies will very rarely if ever leave internet platforms to use the wild internet.
The wild internet is and always has been a place for the oddballs who doesn't fit on the NPC loop and grind, and there's few oddballs in the world, just accept that this place will always resemble a Linux forum.

Yeah this is actually one of the reasons I even discovered Bitcoin. I was looking for the best way to protect the wealth I did get to keep so I could focus on my actual job. But you're right that more than just money is taken. My body is being unnecessarily rekt and so is my mind, even though I don't spend as much time on trying to protect myself from inflation. A part of us is still being extracted by an unproductive area of the system.
I think this issue would improve greatly with an actual free market. Regulation (health and insurance), CON laws, etc make it difficult to compete in every area I know of. The primary option for many of us is to leave the industry. Brain drain.
People like Michael Burry come to mind. Wasn't Saylor an engineer? The incentives are to do financial nonsense. Nothing against those two, just using them as examples.
