What if a local economy could work more like an ecosystem?
We’re excited to welcome Azuraye Wycoff to Sovereignty Summit 2027.
Azuraye is the founder and operator of Yellow Barn Farm in Boulder, Colorado, where she runs six interconnected businesses as one regenerative economy - spanning composting, local food distribution, events, landscaping and regenerative agriculture.
Her work is built around a different way of thinking about infrastructure: money moves like water, businesses grow like a root system, and resources cycle back into the land they came from.
Through Yellow Barn Farm, Azuraye is demonstrating what local resilience can look like in practice, creating systems where food, business, community and land support one another rather than operating in isolation.
She also writes The Stalk Market Times, a weekly column exploring food, systems and the economics of staying put.
At Sovereignty Summit, Azuraye will bring a practical perspective to the Food, Farming & Land pillar, exploring how regenerative thinking can strengthen local economies, communities and the places we call home.

I don't trust my brain.
I already knew about cases where I remember something, but a different thing happened, or different case where my memory is a combination of multiple events.
But now I discovered a case where my visual perception is telling me I see something, while it's not a reality. And this is in a real world situation, not any specific "optical illusion" type paradox.

A message to men entering their forties.
At twenty, you inherit the world.
At thirty, you carry its weight.
At forty, you begin to recognise the traps laid by the men who came before you.
Their unfinished wars. Their unfulfilled ambitions. Their fears disguised as wisdom. Their compromises dressed as duty.
And the most dangerous inheritance of all:
The belief that honouring your fathers means repeating their lives.
On the battlefield of Kurukshetra, Arjuna did not tremble before strangers.
He trembled before Bhishma, the patriarch of his bloodline, and Drona, the teacher who had made him a warrior.
The very men who had shaped his existence now stood across the battlefield.
And Krishna held the reins.
Not to teach hatred of the ancestors.

What if the people who taught you duty have become the very obstacle to its fulfilment?
This is where the Bhagavad Gita becomes devastatingly relevant to a man in his forties.
Your body has paid for your obedience.
Your youth has financed other people's visions.
Your strength has carried institutions, families, employers, and expectations that may never have asked what you were born to accomplish.
And still they demand another twenty years.
Another sacrifice.
Another postponement.
Enough.
Krishna's instruction in Gita 18.63 is extraordinary: reflect upon everything, then act according to your judgment.
Even the divine charioteer does not replace discernment with blind obedience.
You are not required to despise your father.
You are not required to burn the house of your ancestors.
But you are not required to remain imprisoned in it either.
The blood still moves.
The sun still rises.
The horses still possess their fire.
And the man who reaches forty with his mind intact, his body disciplined, and his conscience awake is not approaching the end of his usefulness.
He is finally old enough to recognise whose hands have been holding the reins.
Take them.
Not in anger.
Not in vengeance.
But with the terrible composure of a man who knows what remains of his life belongs to his own dharma.
THE FATHERS GAVE YOU A BEGINNING.
THEY DO NOT GET TO WRITE YOUR ENDING.
Let Krishna hold the reins of wisdom.
Let the warrior reclaim his chariot.
Let the inherited chains end with him.

Après 20 jours d'utilisation, ma vieille machine en auto-hébergement à la maison fonctionne correctement derrière sa box internet, en l’occurrence une freebox. Donc c'est possible d'y arriver, avec un peu de patience et de persévérance, même si on est pas du métier, ce qui est mon cas, même avec du vieux matériel de récupération (30 euros pour la carte mère et le processeur avec son ventilo sur le bon coin au mois de mars).
Si vous souhaitez tenter l'aventure de l'auto-hébergement, Free permet à ses abonnés d'obtenir gratuitement une adresse IP fixe et un "Reverse DNS" pour nom de domaine, depuis l'interface abonné freebox.
En consultant quotidiennement les logs du serveur, je constate environ 10 000 requêtes par 24h. C'est pas mal pour un petit site statique comme www.gallican.org
Par contre, il existe en permanence des tentatives de piratage, parfois jusqu'à la moitié des requêtes ! Je suppose que c'est des bots, des scanners automatisés. Ils tentent une multitude de choses avec le langage php, les scripts cgi, les connexions ssh et plein d'autres trucs. Heureusement à chaque fois le serveur répond par "denied"
Un constat sur le monde actuel : le web est devenu une vraie jungle !
D'où la nécessité de bien paramétrer la machine pour la sécurité. J'ai mis bien sûr un pare-feu et durci les paramètres de connexion, c'est à dire que pratiquement tout est interdit dans le fichier de configuration, sauf l'obtention des fichiers du site bien sûr 😊
De simples fichiers textes en .htm ou images en .jpg ou .gif - des .pdf aussi. La conception du site remonte à 1997 😊 Il était et il est toujours capable de fonctionner sous windows 3.1 Je l'avais découvert sur ma première machine en 1992. Bon, mon petit site a fait du chemin depuis, environ 4000 fichiers.
J'espère que ça pourra continuer à aller bien comme ça. Le réseau local à la maison fonctionne pour l'instant normalement, avec ses autres machines.
J'apprécie également la simplicité d'archlinux.
Mis uniquement le système de base, c'est très minimaliste, 150 paquets à peine, sans fioriture, sans ssh, pour réduire le plus possible les surfaces d'attaque. Le serveur ne consomme que 512 mo de RAM.
J'ai toujours l'idée de monter ensuite un relai Nostr, pour être utile à ce réseau. Je l'apprécie, y apporter ma modeste contribution ; créer un relai SimpleX également. J'ai trouvé des tutoriels pour aider. J'essaye de comprendre. Je ne sais pas si c'est possible de mettre tout ça derrière une freebox, même si elle a la fibre.
Je me dis aussi qu'il n'y a qu'une seule façon de le savoir. C'est d'essayer 😊
Si quelqu'un du métier a des conseils, je suis également preneur.

The intrepid vibecoder could pretty easily build this on top of catallax... the arbiter is the oracle, a crowdfund/zapraiser collects the pot, some additional event type (or heck, a pre-determined note on the zap, encoded in the UI, set by the 'market') records the bets. when the oracle determines the outcome, he divides the pot between the winners, takes a cut. this would be like 95% done by the software; a couple buttons for humans to press
