softcore instances is a brainwashing government funded action to desensitize us and make us not pedophiles

I will start a drama, but it's starting to be impossible to moderate I need to sit couple hours a day to get rid of it from my server and I am just considering blocking instances because of it:
@npub10pg…a73p - is there a plan to create another softcore cp gooncave like cutiegarden to contain this kind of content or has eepy became just that?
@npub1322…fw8r - do you plan on actually moderating your instance and not allowing your users to post nudes when they're under legal age of consent?
@npub17cl…2cpx - do you plan on ever limiting registration?

i already accepted the fact that im going to have make my pain shorter in case of a health emergency, a gun would be handy

2024-10-31 01:08:44 UTC

- reply

I put death being better than any pain tbh, and I'd like to have any chance to at least hurt the attacker if not defend myself completely by killing them on the spot

2024-10-31 01:05:29 UTC

- reply

yes I prefer to die instantly rather than suffer the pain of being beaten up to death

2024-10-31 01:02:40 UTC

then I also have gun and either im quicker than them and I am the winner or we both die

2024-10-31 00:59:08 UTC

- reply

good luck calling for help when no one's around, it's less likely someone will attack you in a crowd, and again running away is hopeless if the person is stronger than you

2024-10-30 22:31:04 UTC

- reply

it's not more power it's about the same, the only thing it changes is making your survival probability not equal 0 percent

2024-10-30 22:16:34 UTC

- reply

People already have such power, they can just use a moment to drag you off the street and cut your stomach open if they only wish to if you're not careful. An Uber driver can just kidnap you. If these things happen, it's over for you, since government not allowed you to have means to protect yourself.

2024-10-30 22:12:25 UTC

- reply

Also what stops malicious actors from obtaining a gun illegally? It's less trackable that way, and it's actually what's happening in a lot of parts of Europe.

2024-10-30 22:10:32 UTC

- reply

It's the state who should take care of it, putting weaker people at higher risk is not a solution. Make everyone be able to live and not be as desperate for money to commit a crime and you're not gonna see much gun related murder like in america. Look at Switzerland where gun ownership is very high.

2024-10-30 22:04:49 UTC

- reply

And no, it doesn't increase crime, malicious people will still overpower you the classic way because they can. All it takes away is any way for you to protect yourself.

2024-10-30 22:03:50 UTC

- reply

I lived in countries that do have pepper sprays legal and I always had it with me, and in countries that have them illegal, and honestly I'd rather commit a crime and still carry one. I'd have a gun with me if I could.

2024-10-30 21:56:34 UTC

- reply

all fear is removed by just seeing how small and weak I am, sure you may look different, more intimidating but that puts you on a privileged spot disallowing me to protect yourself in order for you to feel safer

2024-10-30 21:50:54 UTC

- reply

without pepper sprays they would just beat you up or kill you with a knife if they want to, what's the difference except that you were stripped of any means to protect yourself

2024-10-30 21:41:46 UTC

tbh making self-defense weapons illegal is the stupidest thing ever, people stronger than you with malicious intents are gonna do whatever they want to you, I don't feel safe out without a weapon, I need a pepper spray at least, but of course it's for my own safety to keep it illegal and have only luck and not going out after 8 pm protecting me

**filly.love migration update - long post, kinda important**
final decision is we're migrating from Misskey over to Akkoma ***for now***.
we ran through many options and set up many experiments locally but none were sufficient for our needs;
- misskey forks would have mostly the same core issues as misskey itself
- mitra even though very lightweight isn't easy to moderate, and lacks core fedi features such as polls.
- kitsune, we couldn't get to compile
- takahē is good, but is stuck in early development and looks like the project is abandoned, it's likely we're gonna fork it and develop it according to our needs since it has the best code quality and looks the most expandable.
- iceshrimp (.net rewrite) is very early in development and is unusable at this state, but would be a good candidate in the future
- mastodon/glitchsoc fork :twi_thinks_the_same:
- soapbox is just pleroma with different gui
I admit it, Pleroma/Akkoma sucks, but it's currently the best option over there when it comes to moderation and UI performance. we will make sure to install at least two front-end options for users to choose from, so modern misskey feel will still be available.
We also decided to set up a separate snac2 instance on a subdomain for informative, admin-related stuff in case something happens with filly, or just to give updates, later on we don't reject the idea of allowing users join that instance as well if they wish so.

doesn't sound reliable, I dunno, if fedi developed a standard for authenticated media access that'd be great honestly

2024-10-15 06:26:30 UTC

- reply

fair but I don't wanna rely on ai scanning or anything and I don't wanna sit and watch 24/7 what's being uploaded, current solution was an easy fix but some fedi software just sucks balls when it comes to working well with it
