Been awhile since I shared an el gato malo post, but this is a good one...again talking about the over-abundance of educated "elites" that are ill-equipped for real-life, hate the other side - but cannot define the other side (capitalism was a great example), want reparations and telling the guy holding the Charlie-Kirk style forum "but you don't have to pay for it".
Yeah, who pays for it, then??
Post is worth it even if just watching the short videos to see what comes out of these people's mouths.
=====
honestly, i suspect that this is why they hated charlie so much.
it wasn’t about what he said, it was about what he asked them to say, about the questions they could not answer and the scrutiny up to which they could not stand.
they did not hate him for having the microphone, they hated him for handing it to them and asking them about their views.
watch this spiral into incoherence. watch the anger as magic words fail.
she has no idea what she’s even saying. she just knows that she feels entitled, wronged, and that it’s someone else’s fault.

When my senior tennis players graduated last year, I intentionally wrote my congratulatory graduation letters in cursive...they could not read it.
I spend energy putting heartfelt, encouraging, hopeful messages into these...and told them they could either ask their parents to read it to them, or learn cursive.
Everything I write to my grandkids is in cursive, also. Trying to keep the dying art alive. And my cursive is a LOT better than this because I had a teacher who leaned in to teaching me a more flowing script. Definitely not calligraphy, but my wife and daughters always love it. Funny thing is that I've signed enough mortgages...and spent years signing martial arts and tennis certificates...that it trashed my signature unless I write really slowly.

A worthwhile follow-up to the el gato malo piece I shared earlier this week.
=====
losing the congress is the sacrifice that leads to checkmate in 2028.
it removes all of the left’s good moves.
keeping it is the poison chalice that puts 2028 in real doubt.
the right will be in defense with a rough board setup.
...
“they’ll open the border and pass an amnesty!”
no, they won’t. “veto proof majority” is not in the cards and trump is not signing that bill.
“they’ll impeach him!”
yeah, they might try. that blew up in their face bigly last time. this time it will ruin them for good and all. people are utterly sick of that crap and will not tolerate it.
but they will pass (some other thing i hate) or take over the zeitgeist again?
no, they won’t. they’ll flounder and dig their own ideological graves while focusing the will of the right on electing those who are actually effective.
why is this s terrible time to be in charge of the congress?
the likelihood of a US market crash and recession over the next 2 years looks very high to me. that’s the exact sort of outcome that obama used in 2008 to take power. the dems excel at “getting the GOP to act like interventionist socialists at the beginning of a crisis then using that momentum to take power and drive the idea further.”

I will vote - I will not be particularly hopeful. I will likely vote red on everything...even though I despise both parties, I DO actually fear the democrats/DSA agenda much worse than I fear the spineless incompetence or cagey captured corruption of some of the key republicans.
I am also voting strongly conservative on anything to do with 2nd amendment, election integrity, deportations (no, I am not a racist...my own clients, family, and friend group can attest), boys in girls sports, 2 genders, taxes...including education taxes that I supported for years even when we were homeschooling our own kids, but will not support indoctrination, etc.
Boy, do I hate the idea that we may have to lose ground to democrats/progressives/DSA...to let their out-of-touch agendas and constant impeachments of Trump backfire, and then get a new crop of GOP to follow a Newt Gingrich model to resetting American politics and fiscal trajectory.
That intervening 4 years could be painful for **easy** use of Bitcoin, censorship, taxation, over-regulation, education choices, DEI, gender-wars, lockdowns...and the list goes on and on.
=====
the donkeys are worse than the GOP. no doubt.
but the GOP still sucks, runs on small government then governs like donkey light. they get both houses and the presidency and spend the whole time caterwauling about how they can't bills passed on issue with 4 in 5 popular support.
this is not some inevitability of the US government.
the donkeys manage it. the congressional GOP are just frails. they are not really trying. it's all pantomime.
...
the long term, second order win of "having a GOP congress actually worth having" requires a first order loss of power in the near term.

Ouch - FYI, I chose to stick to SuperGrok vs go down the Claude or ChatGPT rabbit holes. I'm struggling with those founders right now, and my main focus is different research on topics or products I'm interested in, financial/geopolitical news in as objective form as I can get, and maybe some basic document/spreadsheet design.
Not so sure I'm ready to let Grok bots loose with any of my passwords.
My application development days are SO over (29 years of software and data analytics) - and I'm much more peaceful as a result.

Reminder - I am not Republican...but any vote I do cast will never be leaning left...especially the left that exists now.
I consider the bulk of DC to be thoroughly corrupted, captured, self-serving...and unaccountable. And the bulk of both sides of the aisle has fit that description for generations. Term limits, age requirements, and nuclear options "if they can't balance the budget they are immediately up for re-election" should apply (at a minimum). All votes public, and let's go back to the states send US Senators to DC...not the popular vote with funding from NGOs.

it’s also basically bottomless because the thing about people who can only think in first order modes is that every time something goes horribly wrong, you just say “them! they did this to you! let’s get ‘em!” and they fall for it because they are, by definition and selection, not capable of the kind of thought process that would allow them to see the hand that shakes the jar to make the bugs fight; they see only the opposing insect.
...
the parallel to the broken english in the nigerian finance minister scams is quite strong: the goal is to be obviously bad/dangerous in order to sift out, right from the start, anyone who will later wise up and walk away. that way you don’t bother wasting time and energy on them and can focus on the easy marks who you can close.
...
hasan is not an intellectual. he’s an embarrassment to submidwittery. listen to him speak. he’s actually, legitimately stupid.
but being a leading light is not his role.
piker is a permission giver. he says wild, accusatory, hateful things and brands out-groups as evil.
...
it’s how you select for idiot, then add useful.

he real consequences of real communism are so uniform, universal, and inevitable that it takes a special sort of ignorance to fail to see the pattern of the facts on the ground.
...
if you are capable of thinking in 2 or more orders, you see that it’s always going to fail. if you can’t, it seems like a swell idea.
hence the framing “real communism has never been imagined.”
because communists lack the ability.
because if they had it, they wouldn’t be communists.

What happened to the Blue Collar Bitcoin guys? I'm sure life gets in the way (at their age, kids, and their firemen profession). But they pop back up to develop and promote the Sovereign Tax app - which I paid for and started using...and appreciate a lot.
But the X ID they used to primarily promote the app hasn't had an update since March. And the original Blue Collar Bitcoin X ID, also used to promote the app, hasn't had any updates since March.
Thanks to the Coldcard fiasco, I could use some assistance with the app regarding transfers...especially when have example scenario like the following where there isn't a one-to-one mapping across exchanges/wallets:
➡️ 50 transactions on source exchange
➡️ 30 transactions (UTXOs) on cold storage when moving from source exchange. Used the Sovereign Tax app to assign Specific Lot IDs.
➡️ 10 consolidated outgoing transactions from cold storage to destination exchange in a "race against the clock" with Coldcard vulnerability. I didn't split any UTXOs, but I did combine several...so the Specific Lot assignments should still be intact.
The user guide even points to a section called Wallets and Transfers...which navigates to a blank section of the documentation. 🤔

imagine the sort of person who would flood unasked and illegally into your town then immediately commence complaining that you are not feeding and housing them.
that reveals character and nature and the revelations are bleak.
and we must see them for what they are.
the sympatheitc see only the need, but the realist sees the incentive: they created this need, this seeming crisis in order to prey upon you.
it was a choice to exploit what they saw as a weakness.

Reminder - even though I share right-leaning posts because they more closely align with my conservative values - I by NO MEANS am a Republican, MAGA, etc.
They behave as if they ALL hate us...hate is too strong of a word. Some just want that UniParty train to keep rolling because it is either their gravy train and/or it keeps their handlers from leaking incriminating evidence against them.
Republicans should have already pushed for talking filibusters and then pushed through a lot of the conservative legislation (SAVE act primarily...along with impeaching rogue judges) just to keep some semblance of a 2-party system vs Democrats/Democrat socialists achieving 1-party system through illegal/dead voting. Then taking over all levels of the judicial branch for activist agenda.

Been awhile since I shared a long form post - of course, el gato malo presents plenty of options.
Back during lockdowns, I bought a Cancel Cancel Culture shirt from JP Sears. Got plenty of looks...didn't get corresponding discussions, though. 🤔
I particularly like these lines...
====
but it only works as a totalitarian system. it must be complete. once it starts to leak, it’s over for two simple reasons:
most people hate this and always did
and as soon as they realize that most other people hate it too, the false consensus rapidly unravels
the fear ends because the fear was rooted in the illusion of alienation.
...
those who seek to stifle debate through cancel culture, censorship, and supplant discourse with personal attack are never the good guys. they are neither useful nor moral. they are suppressors and oppressors.

If you need another thing to read to get angry today, this one works...but at what point do the common sense, "reluctant to bring the FO to the people FA'ing with us", good people finally snap and go vigilante.
And, of course, they will be thrown in jail...brought before the media as a right-wing lunatic...etc. Because it takes a lot to make us snap, and we do so in isolated enough cases that WE can be isolated and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

Why can't common sense people watch CA (pick your city...start with LA), Seattle (stay tuned) and New York City, and run away from voting for these Democratic socialists??

This drives me nuts. Lemmings vote where the money (via advertising, paid/captured thought leadership papers and studies) tells them to, and then (captured) legislators vote...where the money tells them to.

That's why we just did our first lease - where everything is covered under warranty other than oil changes/etc.
Loved our (paid off) Mini Cooper Countryman, but everything was starting to go (water pumps, timing chains, etc). And Minis are NOT cheap to service!

Well said...
====
A mere $1,000 monthly payment to every American carries a price tag of roughly $4 trillion per year, equivalent to half the entire federal budget. There is no honest path to that revenue that does not involve a permanent and dramatic expansion of state power, federal taxation, and central economic planning. Once established, no such program has ever shrunk. UBI is not a bridge; it is a foundation, and the building that gets erected on top of it is bigger government in perpetuity. And it’s not like other government programs will be shut down to make up for the budget hole that UBI creates. It just never works that way.

This Robert Malone's Friday Funnies is worth the read just to get the "between meme" running commentary, but here are a few of the good ones.
And it reiterates to me that I've always been conservative (theologically, ideologically, fiscally) - never been Republican (even though I vote that way)...and absolutely NEVER will be Democrat. If there were any serious candidate that could win as an independent or libertarian, then I would vote along those lines (not blindly, though). However, I remain doubtful that will happen in my lifetime.

Been awhile since I shared a good (albeit, long as always) post from el gato malo
=====
they are deliberately wrecking things. the wreckage is not a bug, it’s the feature. they want to destroy the high function systems of the west because they want to rule the west in authoritarian fashion. that’s the only goal. and successful systems cannot be so ruled. they resist. they do not want or need such rulers. things are good. people want good things to continue. they are optimistic and replete.
so you need to create a problem for which the only answer is dictatorship and then get people to give such power to you out of desperation.
you need them poor, hungry, hurting, angry, unsafe, threatened, and envious of anyone better off.
you need to break their belief in a better future because people who believe in better futures do not accede republics to dictators.
so you must not only create problems that make life unpleasant, you must undermine belief that individuals can solve these problems for themselves.
