Pro-Israel Democrats never had a problem with this being a litmus test issue, which it has been for many years, as long they controlled the debate. Now that they’ve lost control it’s suddenly a problem.

The Abraham Accords were sold as a pathway to regional peace and stability. Instead they’ve fueled a new era of conflict.

Right, although worth noting that restricting sales in accordance with US law effectively means an arms embargo.
What to watch out for now is the reprogramming/rebranding of aid into “joint research projects” which is just another taxpayer subsidy.

25 years later, one of the chief neoconservative intellectual architects of American global military hegemony admits Susan Sontag was right about 9/11.

I guess it’s progress that Baerbock understands that her past comments were so indefensible that she must now pretend she never said it.

Former Biden administration officials know that Israel's justifications for demolishing Gaza, assassinating journalists, blocking humanitarian aid, and maiming and starving kids are lies.
They're still choosing to keep silent about it. https://foreignpolicy.com/2025/07/18/biden-war-crimes-israel-gaza-accountability/

“Hamas is stealing the aid” was always Israeli propaganda to distract from its policy of denying aid. The Biden administration could’ve stated this publicly, but that would’ve required acknowledging that civilian harm is a goal of the policy.

Mosab does a beautiful job here but it’s important to understand that constantly being asked these kinds of questions, which are rarely if ever asked of Israelis, is part of the cost imposed on Palestinians when they tell their own story.

This isn’t true but it’s helpful in understanding the function that the “terrorist” label performs. It’s just something you throw out there when you want to empower the state to kill people without any pesky legal process.

Important piece from ⁦@amirtibon⁩ correcting Brett McGurk’s recent self-serving op-ed, which continued the Biden administration’s shameful practice of doing PR for Netanyahu at the expense of Israeli hostages’ and Palestinian lives. https://www.haaretz.com/israel-news/2025-02-17/ty-article/.premium/biden-envoy-mcgurk-offers-dangerous-revisionism-about-netanyahu-and-the-hostages/00000195-13d0-d4b6-abfd-5bf255530000

The move here would be to simply rename the Arab Peace Initiative the Trump Peace Initiative, dangle a Nobel Peace Prize next to it, and then keep asking Netanyahu why he doesn’t want Trump to have this.
