I mean, if he actually admitted that he has reasonable doubt but refused to then do what he was supposed to, then he's a bit of an idiot. But it would be interesting to hear his side of the story. Could be he said "sure I have a smidge of doubt but I don't feel it's reasonable" or whatever. The way the others are talking, that doesn't seem to be the case but I'm going to take what they are saying with a grain of salt.

It's such a weird myth. I'm always pretty surprised to hear it as well when it comes to men in women's prisons. So many people seem to feel confident that the women will deliver "prison justice," to them, especially if they've committed sexual crimes. But that's so backward. A lot of women in there are very vulnerable and just end up being these guys' victims. I haven't heard of inmates doing anything to the male pedos in Canadian women's prisons. Nor should they try to get into it with a man.

Yeah... it's a nice sentiment but it's never sat right with me because just like a general call to "be nice," it is too often directed at the victims of aggressors in cajoling them not to fight back or at least defend themselves. It would be great if everyone was up for getting along to the best of our abilities but there will always be bad actors who will take advantage of that sentiment and sometimes, even if no one is clearly in the wrong, you're going to have to fight for your own self interest.

"It’s easy to laugh at 'non-binary' women insisting that others play blind, deaf, and dumb to their sex, but these people seek severe punishment for “misgendering” and other crimes against progressive orthodoxy out of narcissistic injury."

The progressives who control the schools and schools of education should be happy about this because it would protect them in the future if they ever lose their stranglehold on these institutions. The funny thing is they simply can't imagine ever not being in power.

When you make your party all about the oppression hierarchy, it's going to become overrun with clinical narcissists. Not because oppressed people are narcissistic, but because narcissistic people think they are oppressed.

I wrote about a similar and earlier case here where a man with the same condition eventually accepted himself as a man and that was really hard too because people just didn't understand. Introducing "trans" into this just makes things even more uselessly complicated. It doesn't do any favors to these people.

There is no world in which a guy who decides to compete against women isn't going to be a total fucking asshole in every other regard. Like it doesn't take any kind of investigative reporting to know this.

Somehow I manage to live a very happy gay life despite not having any woke progressive friends. Everyone I know is sick of Pride, yet they all treat me like I'm, well, normal. And, admittedly I am biased, but I know some of the best people in the world, so I'm very grateful.
I do realize that a big part of the reason we got to a place where someone like me is accepted like I am is because of activists who came before me. I try to always give credit where credit is due and give thanks to the good things earned for me by others. But I also believe very strongly that the activists who won this life for me were the ones who pushed a message of inclusion and integration. "We're just like you," was successful because people saw that, in many cases, that was true.
But anti-assimilationist queer activists have decided to go scorched earth by deeming everything "normative," as oppressive. If they admit how good things got, they wouldn't be able to play the victim anymore, and having a victim narrative confers a lot of power in society today. Ironically, there's a risk of them pushing the victim narrative so far and using it to push so many boundaries that it actually becomes reality again. Boy who cried wolf, anyone?
Anyway, I'm glad to have grown up when I did and sad to see the movement take a nosedive. We actually have it really good, and the only people putting that in jeopardy are those who forgot the goal was to be treated like everyone else, not better than everyone else.

I'm not a materialist or a reductionist. I also think it's idiotic to view being a "girl" as rooted in anything other than the physical body. That is not bad. That is not vulgar. There's nothing lowly about being female.

2025-05-27 15:27:52 UTC

This is literally gnosticism. Physical existence is vulgar to these people. And like, sure, have your religious beliefs, but there's no need for anyone else to accept your, imo, philosophically and spiritually immature and anti-human views.

I'm not going to cry endlessly about the election - it is what it is. But I do think it's pretty pathetic that many people made this election all about Trump. And honestly, it was less about him than about using him as an excuse to jump back in bed with the Liberals. Canadians were so upset with this party that it was set to completely collapse, but suddenly orange man SO bad that we have to reward them with almost a majority government? What a perverse form of nationalism. Canadian identity is "we hate Trump" and that's just sad.

2025-04-11 18:46:05 UTC

I can't think of a more disgustingly vapid take than "let the man identify as a woman or else you'll hurt his feelings" and it's offshoots "let the male rapist into the female prison or else you'll hurt his feelings," "let the massive hulking man into female sports or else you'll hurt his feelings," and "sterilize the children or else you'll hurt his feelings because then he can't pretend he was 'born this way'."

Anyone making the argument that men don't have a physical advantage in sports is essentially saying that women lack the intelligence and dedication to make up the gap. That is the only explanation possible at this point. Sure, there are cultural and social differences, but there are also many sports where women have by now had access to equal or very near equal opportunity, facilities, and training, and the performance gap remains. It makes me feel crazy to have to even say this stuff because it literally just takes eyeballs and a pair of working brain cells to instantly clock that men and women are physically different. But here we are. I hate social constructionists so much.

Last week, I was pleasantly surprised to see @npub1dcq…jj53 release a video drawing attention to the issue of men in women’s prisons. He did so by focusing on the particularly disturbing case of Adam Laboucan, a BC man who now goes by Tara Desousa and who sexually assaulted a three-month-old baby boy in 1997. Despite this, Laboucan is now housed in a female prison with a Mother-Baby program because he “identifies” as a woman.
I was equally dismayed, though not surprised, to see @npub10m7…e2l6 completely disregard this issue and @npub1wuf…pkmt use it as an opportunity to childishly insult Conservative MPs.
I often celebrate that gender ideology is on its way out (though still a long way from the door), but then it strikes me that these are the kinds of people we are dealing with. It is a sad example of the banality of evil that one can hear about such a horrific situation and not feel the impulse to instantly correct it but to shrug it off and insult those who point it out instead. This is who we are still up against.

People pushing childhood transition, like @npub1ard…kllx and @npub1jaw…2x8u, can't be allowed to shy away from these stats.
In Canada, the children subject to this "treatment" are disproportionately female, indigenous, and struggling with mental health issues.
