I am hopeful that it will create a lot of anon proxy services (already tried and tested via xmrbazaar.com) which even normies will start searching for. Best bet is relocation to a less draconian country without the infra to enforce it. Sure every country will try, but succeed like the pandemic tyrannical laws, will be a very different story. People will eventually get angry enough and push back in their own way. But the ones using privacy tech and living remote early on won't be the low hanging fruit. Keep all your paper documents scanned and backed up including old expired ones.

Most people still here in 2026 would have seen at least once the news of freezing crypto transactions (usual suspect shitcoins). Which is why it is so surprising how the same so called "Be your own bank" and "End the Fed" people have not discovered Monero yet and/or refuse to learn it. Apparently a distant Quantum Threat is more alarming than what is happening right now with people's 'sovereign' holdings. Fungibility matters.

Thats how you have to add Hermes Agent or OpenClaw since day one to chat apps. Creating their own UserID and setting strict rules who they can and cant talk to. Funny how behind Anthropic and OpenAI are to Opensource AI projects, feels like when Apple releases a 'new' anything when every budget Android already had 5 years ago.

This is almost as bad as the Cold Cards disaster. Worse in a way that you cannot verify the supply chain (which is ironic asf because blockchain tech exists and would solve the logistics needed for highly secure shipping)
Use Cake Wallet paired with Cupcake on any old offline android with LineageOS no one would pay attention to. That's the point, to blend in and be secure physically and digitally.

Would be fishy to get Edward Snowden to admit Monero is actually private and untraceable, because he has not public acknowledged monero even once.
The equivalent of those BTC influencers for Monero already happened:
"If you care about privacy, maybe you need a monero." - Michael Saylor
"I am ashamed of promoting bitcoin, I would be proud to promote something like monero" - Roger Ver
And a couple of other less popular channels have also mentioned it in a similar fashion. Tux' video edit has a few of those clips.

Regardless where you stand on the Ukraine/Russia waste of human life and public tax money, two things remain true 4 years later:
1. Centralized assets can be frozen at any time = That's why Monero $XMR exists
2. Centralized infra like Starlink can be throttled or switched off at any time = That's why reticulum.network and ratspeak.org exist

As a new Linux user (5 years exp on different distros), I think non-linux users need to realize that they have ZERO oversight on what they are downloading/installing on their personal spy devices.
Then they get pwned and have ZERO clue why/how it happened and what to do about it.
ZorinOS = just works
Fedora = just works
Mint = just works
There is not excuse, just plain laziness of a lobotomized that think the world is red or blue, mac or windows, right or wrong.

As a non technical person I can testify to the compound effect of pursuing privacy [different journeys but the effect is the same]:
> may start with WANTING to go through and uncheck every box of 'cookie settings' just because
> stop giving away your real info to any person/company
> delete all social platforms except Nostr
> you ditch gmail for a more 'private' service > you realized email hasnt changed since 1995 and become an early adopter of pre-lokinet Session
> realize all shitcoins are traceable as fuck including Bitcoin and Ztrash
> start learning Monero like it's DAY ONE at cypherpunk school
> throw away all devices that are not Linux or GrapheneOS
> encrypt everything at rest
> upgrade to custom firmware [coreboot]
> disable wifi [physically or bios] and use a removable adaptor and ethernet at home
> faraday pouches and sleeves on main travel gear
> strict use of FOSS apps in personal and professional life
> onboard or force others to use the same apps as you
> pay for VPN, data esim and parallel markets with XMR or cash
> ereader shelf becomes 'Extreme Privacy', 'Permanent Record', 'Art of Deception' among others
> sit facing away from CCTV in public places, always aware of surroundings
> secure tax residencies in 2 other countries with offshore bank accounts
> only use PO Boxes for deliveries
> build your own surveillance detection devices
> start learning reticulum mesh networking and radio comms
Low threat model but learning this shit is addictive asf. Feel free to keep the thread going with your journey

2026-09-04 14:54:56 UTC

Cannot trust any mainstream person. The playbook is always the same and it is finally becoming obvious to everyone:
Stage 1: Person [or plant by the system] becomes famous
Stage 2: Planned 'planned movement' kicks off
Stage 3: Their handlers keep them in check as their power and influence grows
Stage 4: They step out of line and then get cancelled, blackmailed or killed
I begin listening skeptically once they get to Stage 4. And the word 'Stages' is exactly what it means: Stage as 'Theatre' and Stages as a cancer of psychological operations by the 'rulers'.

2026-09-03 21:54:21 UTC

Realized it recently that my life only changed once I stopped chasing the shit everyone else in my 'professional' circle were chasing: a career, social status, fake people to hangout with on weekends, the latest gadget, etc.
Now laser focused on my immediate family and a relentlessness thirst for privacy and independence in every aspect of life:
- XMR
- physical & digital privacy
- usable local AI setup
- offline back ups of everything important
- growing/stockpiling food
- collecting rainwater
- multiple energy sources
- learning HAM comms (reticulum/meshtastic next)
- plan B and C residency papers elsewhere
- learn from a like-minded network on Nostr and SimpleX
- thinking of ways of making $XMR with all of the above via XMRbazaar/monerica

I'm no Nostr Vet either, only for a year or so. My basic understanding is that its the underlying technology/protocol (much like what Haveno is to RetoSwap).
So anyone can use the open source code to integrate into a 'third party' service to access it, and also tweak it to how they want to use it.
Nosmore/Monstr are basically built on the Nostr network and customized the algorithm, UI and some config settings to allow for adding 'Monero Zaps' or tips with a connected Monero wallet. I have no had much luck with using these harnesses. So I stick to Nostr native clients to have a smoother experience reading and intersecting with posts and just manually searching for and following the Monero community.

Do you think we need a Monero Native Nostr equivalent (the longer route) or improve existing Monero harnesses for Nostr like Nosmero and MonstrLand?
