Hi @npub1gx2…4lmh got a question if you don't mind. I figure you cut a lot of growth/trees at your place- so was wondering what is your favorite chain sharpener is when you're back in your garage? [I have four chains to sharpen tho't I'd see if you know the best sharpener]. Best.

Our new PHEV in 2017 got us from 180miles/tank to 1,000 miles/tank... after a lifetime of 25mpg (my 1971 Volvo) it was so completely strange to go to 100mpg+! (11kpl to 44kpl)
Electricity prices can spike during the transition to nuclear ==> maybe PHEV is more practical until the infrastructure deploys.

Hydrogen is unlikely to become cheap :-( :-( :-( but I'd still like to have a Mirai here in California they are $5,000 now in the used market.

Thus the secretaries played a game where they would hide them in aforesaid closet then insert three or four in the fridge to be cold just before lunchtime! Occasoinally I'd finish debugging or whatever and get to the fridge at 11:45 and... yumm!

for...
// gcc -o click click.m -framework ApplicationServices -framework Foundation

NSUserDefaults *args = [NSUserDefaults standardUserDefaults];
int x = [args integerForKey:@"x"];

CGPoint pt;
pt.x = x;
pt.y = y;
CGPostMouseEvent( pt, 1, 1, 1 );
CGPostMouseEvent( pt, 1, 1, 0 );

Partially coz on CD they could pump up da booma booma to make the buyers happy. On the quad-sq disc they had to be careful with the levels. So it's more mmm... civilized and you can hear everything clearly. That's the only copy of DSOTM I enjoy at all these days.

Am sorta not being facetious here that is how I use it. I RDP into it from my Mac, which has the network conn.
Once every few months I connect Win11 to the net to download some AI turd other than that everything gets funneled through local networking+MacOS.
As a fully disconnected system I find Win11 to be a very nice OS. I sorta consider it to be the next iteration of DOS 3.3
So...
Linux is a great connected OS.
Win11 is best used as a non-network OS.

2026-01-25 14:38:53 UTC

Am trying to think through this...
Pretti goes to a demonstration with a handgun. Whether open carry or not he's trying to help someone on the ground...
if you were wearing a handgun at a demonstration wouldn't you want to stand back and let someone else help a person having trouble? I mean, you're really taking a lot of responsibility in and "a and b" situation where (a) you're wearing a pistol and (b) you're actively mingling with the crowd, knowing you're carrying + could err at any time. Again, seems like his fault. Feel bad for his family coz they raised him.
But this was a bad decision+situation he created and seems he paid for it with his life.

When I was living there a few years back I got the impression that various agencies are encouraging people to leave.
After the next big earthquake a lot of land will be cleared out for parks+large lots for the wealthy.
For example, cities from Long Beach to Malibu are on prime real estate but embody dilapidated infrastructure. Best to start over with 1-2 acre lots that won't risk a lot of lost life when earthquakes hit.
So I wasn't at all surprised when it turned out the recent fire-hit homes aren't being rebuilt.
I could be wrong but sure seems like they want everyone to move away [perhaps inland from] the Inglewood Fault, leaving big parcels behind with low population density. Might be nice, really, since the various towns were transformed into sh**land during World War 2.

So, Philips 66 and friends are planning on bulldozing the refinery properties and developing the properties for commerce and probably residential. Solely because they consider the refineries to be a liability, whereas port development is seen as an asset.
So... California- why not just annex the entire regions by imminent domain? I don't see why not. Cut these guys off at the balls.
Or, conditionally allow them to keep the refineries and keep going. Gotta wonder what California's govt is doing. They have the upper hand.
Philips 66 is trying to use the situation to make lemonade out of lemons. While initially I was with them, this is what do you call it... corporate machination.

The last company I worked for, NIelsen, with the blessing of the obama-administration advocate friend of the MTV No Agenda guy, sent all the jobs to Bangalore.
I think there should be some kind of punishment involved for the partners who did this so that they don't do it again. Mild... but heavy enough to prevent recurrences.

You pretty much need to marry into the system there OR be US military OR it's a miserable place to deal with long-term. That's planned they want it that way and y'know- Japan was never annexed into the US so they have no reason to cater to us, really.

13. Chevy Equinox (transmission failure, car electronics fail)
12. GMC Terrain (transmission failure, computer glitches)
11. Mercedes E-Class (transmission failure, body parts falling off)
10. Buick Enclave (transmission failure, lane assist dead, computer screen goes black intermittenly)

8. Kia Serrento (transmission slips, brake problems, electrics intermittent)
7. Chevy Traverse (trans fluid leaks+trans replacement, turbine shaft seal breaks, loose bolts)
6. GMC Acadia (trans failure, brake problems, seats are painful, car is cheap)
5. Genesis GV60 (Charging unit fails [can't drive]
4. Ford Exploder (transmission failure, no AC, shaking, leaking struts, four cylinder is awful, transmission is rough)
3. Volvo/Geely XC50 (drive system failures, high-voltage battery pack malfucktion, electric motor failures, climate control, terrible drive- a terrible chinese car)

Am pretty sure he had his big toe in a hole in the bottom of the pool and was using it to save the town downhill from being completely flooded! Ghislaine looks very worried and I'm sure she's headed to the phone to get help!

I note that it's 2025 and I still don't have a distributed agent model like I had in 1992. A lot of tech is running in reverse due to the WWW.

Sinatra was a gifted virtuoso and not knowing him or any of his family or having been affected by them in any way- it's really tough to turn a blind eye and loathe the guy.

Sadly, the younger generation [in California at least] was ready to be flipped conservative.
But not after Trump. Guaranteed socialism. You want to pick a backup country to flee to in case things get dangerous here in the US of Anarchy. https://www.newsmax.com/politics/poll-rasmussen-2028/2025/11/26/id/1236201/
