I had a great time attending and presenting at #UbuConIndia2025 at IISc #Bengaluru. Even though this is the first iteration of this event and a full community event, it was a grand success, thanks to the superhuman effort and perseverance of @npub1k99…6wpd, Bhavanishankar Ravindra, Chinmay, support volunteers and staff from IISc, and all the attendees and speakers, many of whom travelled from other countries to attend this event. 🙏🎉 #Ubuntu

Having bought my second #iOS device in ~4 years, I still miss these excellent #Android apps
1. #Firefox (the one on iOS is not proper Firefox)
2. #AntennaPod
3. #Tubular (#NewPipe fork)
4. #RedReader
5. #FDroid (duh!) where I get the above apps and other #FOSS apps from.
Would've considered switching back to Android, if not for the ever-increasing AI anti-features that I don't want on my phone.

Completed today ✅ #SplitFiction, playing as Mio. This game was awesome and my candidate for #GOTY so far. They’ve taken the ideas from the previous two games (A way our and It takes two - play them if you haven’t already) to a whole new level and the result is a beautiful game that is also so much fun to play. While the pacing could’ve been better in some parts towards the end, I enjoyed every bit of it. I’ll play it again soon as Zoe. Highly recommend! #CoOp #gaming

Completed today #Doom2016 ✅ The game was fast-paced throughout and very enjoyable. Towards the end, it felt like it ran out of ideas and then kept throwing similar waves and waves of the same enemies, indicating some laziness in design? The boss fights were challenging and fair though. #gaming

Completed today ✅ #Borderlands2. I played it #CoOp with my cousins and had a lot of fun. It felt better than Borderlands. Will play the DLCs next. #gaming

Completed today ✅ #IndianaJonesAndTheGreatCircle on my Xbox Series X. The game was decent and is worth a playthrough, imho. But it can be frustrating if you go after the side quests and collectibles. I didn’t like that part much and think that a more focused approach like the #Uncharted games would’ve helped. The combat and Indiana Jones always being on the backfoot (requiring stealth for most of the game) and a step or two behind in terms of the plot didn’t help either. #Gamepass #Gaming

Last night, I realised that I had also played and finished ✅ #LoversInADangerousSpacetime at the beginning of this year in a single session, playing it co-op in my cousin’s computer.

Completed today ✅ #SteamWorldDig2. I last played this game a year ago after finishing its predecessor and getting stuck at the final boss level due to a difficulty spike. Today, I tried it again without remembering much and finished it 🤷‍♂️ The game was very good overall but I remember running into a few difficulty spiked, the worst of which was the final boss. I recommend playing this game. #gaming #SteamDeck

Completed today ✅ #WeWereHereToo. While it was similar to its predecessor in many ways, it had a much steeper difficulty spike, and it took a lot more tries with improved communication and coordination to finish. Some parts of it were not fun because things were not obvious and we had to check the internet to find out what needs to be done.

Completed today ✅ #MarvelsMidnightSuns. The game was enjoyable and the card-based combat was not bad at all, considering that this is my first time playing one. It reminded me a lot of #HogwartsLegacy. The exploration and the friendship aspects didn't become boring and repetitive. The story+writing were a bit poor and take forever to pick up pace and suddenly you are at the ending. I didn't like the ending but looking back, it was obvious. Have some DLC content left to finish. I recommend it.

Completed ~2 weeks ago ✅ #WeWereHere. It was an interesting and very short game and it took around 2-3 hours to 100% the game. #coop #gaming

Completed today ✅ #Trine5, playing #CoOp. It was yet another Trine game the improved upon its predecessor. The game was a lot longer and had a lot more powers and puzzles to solve!

Completed today ✅ #PluckySquire. Played it via #PlayStation Plus. The game had a lot of interesting ideas but didn’t do enough with them and its length could’ve been shorter. While the game was too easy for the most part, the difficulty spike in the last round of mini-games was so silly that I gave up and skipped them - I was able to finish the final boss fight in one attempt but struggled with the mini-games before that. #gaming

Completed today ✅ #AstroBot, with a platinum trophy. The game was so much fun and the challenge levels needed for 100% completion had huge spikes in difficulty, compared to the rest of the game, but were enjoyable nevertheless. Highly recommend this game! ❤️ #gaming #PlayStation5

Completed today ✅ #Trine4 in #CoOp mode. Played as Amadeus and was frustrated by his lack of combat options. The puzzles were decent. On to the DLC now.

Completed today ✅#OperationTango. This #CoOp game was short and sweet with enough variety in the gameplay mechanics to not be repetitive. I played it as the hacker and will probably replay it as the agent. Recommend it. 👍

Completed today ✅ #Journey. It was a short and sweet game (~2 hours long) with intuitive mechanics that didn’t require a tutorial or guide. While I didn’t understand the plot, the music was awesome and made the game an enjoyable experience! I recommend playing it!

Completed today ✅ #MyFriendPeppaPig! 🤷‍♂️ I played this with and for my 6-year-old daughter. Even when considering that the game is targeted at kids, it was repetitive and not polished at all. I won’t get the 1+ hours of time that I spent on this back. Even my daughter became bored after some time and that is damning! 😔😒

Completed today ✅ #SuperMarioOdyssey! It was an excellent game, deserving of all the plaudits that it has received. I’ve only completed the main story and there is still so much more to do!

Completed today ✅ #Cyberpunk2077PhantomLiberty! While I didn’t like any of the possible endings or the characters, I liked how focused the main story line was and it was fun to play through! I still have some part of the main game left to play and will do that in the coming days!

Completed today ✅ #Trine3! While it had some fun elements, we did not like the 3D setting and the controls, aiming etc. felt significantly inferior. And the game being an incomplete one (and too short) (https://steamcommunity.com/app/319910/discussions/0/528398719797223737/) did not help either! I recommend playing it only if you have played the previous #Trine games and liked them.

Completed today ✅ #Spiderman2! The game became too limited and repetitive towards the end, but was a decent superhero experience. They overdid the multi-stage boss fight scenarios (4 stages for that non-final boss, seriously!?!?!) I’m sad that there weren’t too many things/quests that Peter and Miles did today as they were fun. I’m won’t try to complete everything for a platinum trophy, unlike what I did for its predecessor.

Completed today ✅ #Venba! It is a very short visual novel game (should take < 2 hours) with some cooking involved. I would recommend those interested in knowing a few things about #Tamil culture to play it.

Completed today (31 Dec 2023) ✅ #Trine2! It was a significantly better, polished, and a more enjoyable co-op experience. Now we are playing the DLC levels which have more difficult puzzles.

Completed today ✅ #YokusIslandExpress! It was a very short and sweet game with a frustrating map/navigation system. It played great on my #SteamDeck!

Completed today ✅ #HogwartsLegacy! The game was good and brought the world in the books alive. I just wish they had a tighter gameplay loop and focused on quality over quantity! The loot and the associated slot system were boring and a chore - didn’t feel rewarding at all. The game feels unfinished in terms of ideas and execution. That is why I won’t be playing it much after completing the main story and many other things in the 50 hours that I’ve played it.

Completed today ✅ #Trine Enchanted Edition in coop mode. While the game felt dated in many ways, the core gameplay was just good enough for us to complete the game!

2023-12-07 18:51:52 UTC

- reply

Completed today ✅ #SuperMarioWonder! The game had many nice wonder flower gimmicks and the general gameplay loop was always interesting. While the difficulty was a bit too easy (maybe they were targeting young, new gamers to the franchise?), I really liked not having a timer to complete the level (Super Mario Bros U Deluxe wasn't as enjoyable due to the timer). I'm now trying to finish the missed and secret levels. I recommend this game!

Completed today ✅#CallOfDutyWWII. It is the first Call of Duty game I've played since Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare, ~15 years ago. The game had set piece after set piece and a dull story with it. Couldn't relate to it at all. It was a meh experience overall!

2023-01-29 10:34:26 UTC

Completed today ✅ #SteamWorldDig! It was a short and good game. The final boss was too accurate and punishing and the difficulty spike from the rest of the game was a bit too much. But I managed to finish it after a lot of retries. Played it on my #SteamDeck.

Completed today ✅ #SniperElite5 main campaign. It felt like an expansion to Sniper Elite 4 and not like a new game costing full price. The game mechanics were often the same or had regressed in comparison to its predecessor. I loved playing it in #coop mode.

Completed today ✅ #GTAV in my second playthrough attempt, 7 years after buying it and 6.5 years after starting to play it. It was a great game and I enjoyed playing it. Imho, it holds up well even in 2022. ❤️

Completed today the main story-line of #GodOfWarRagnarok ✅ It was a long (with some noticeable repetitiveness) and interesting story but the ending felt a bit too safe and predictable. I’ll spend some time trying to complete some side quests. Not sure if I’ll attempt to get the platinum trophy.

Completed today ✅ #HaloCEAnniversary in co-op mode. It was a decent game with a lot of bearable flaws, considering its age. But the most aggravating one was forcing the player to use the worst mechanic in the game in the climax, driving #warthog! 😒 #gaming

Completed today ✅ #TeenageMutantNinjaTurtlesShreddersRevenge. I played it in co-op mode with my cousin and it was 'short and sweet'.

Completed today ✅ - #MassEffect on the Mass Effect Legendary Edition. I played on easy difficulty since I had already played most of it a couple of years ago and just wanted to complete it fully this time. Skipped a lot of the planet exploration and non-Citadel side quests to save time.

While the #Spiderman main story was good (but predictable), most of the other content was like a copy-paste Ubisoft game with a lot of repetitive filler content, only saved by how fun the core gameplay loop was. Still had to grind for the platinum trophy and 100% completion.
