I really need this for linux desktop. I despise text communication on mobiles. Is it likely to be available there soon?

AI produces seriously fragmented patches on top of patches when you do small task at a time. It does not do reusable code that makes all future work in a project both unified with what came before and easier to do than early parts. It does not produce an organization code stack that is better and better tuned to the specific needs of the organization and even suggest new lines of business that it makes low hanging fruit.
If you have low coding skills you are unlikely to produce code that doesn't have security vulnerabilities. You are unlikely to know what is and isn't good code and why. You are the mercy of the AI to sort of make it work whack-a-mole by whack-a-mole. And you are likely to pay more for it in the process.
If the machine can't take the blame for bugs then you certainly cannot trust any advice to let it do the coding for you. Indeed today actual devs are drowning in the volume of AI generated code they must review and give yay or nay on. Burnout is rampant.
We do not know how to teach software good taste to AI. It does not help that LLMs do not do abstract reasoning from principles. We do not know how to write a unit or functional test that checks for the earmarks of good code or even detects more than simple syntactic obvious code smells.
Having a unique codebase per platform is an unmitigated disaster. And due to lack of abstraction and reuse they are likely to be far more different than due only to platform differences.
Too many automated test test only PR by PR changes and are too much test as coded rather than any sort of functional test that tests for functionality needed in an implementation independent way. Human coders to this also but AI coders are even more prone to it. This makes refactoring or coding general logic patterns only once and reusing them difficult.
When much of the functionality is general regardless of platform there should be a multi-platform the same part of the code as well. Clean factoring in design is not enough by itself. This reusable code must be produced and used.

How are these names support when simpleX has no such concept? Are they revocable? What is the identity or signing proof? How can someone in sessionX verify you are the entity they think you are?

The train is moving relative to the atmosphere held down by gravity where the volcano is not. Simple. Same reason you feel a lot of wind on your face if you stick your head out the window of said train. Get people that believe this shit to explain satellites, explain what you are seeing in lunar eclipse and what that curved shadow is during one that crawls across the moon. Get them to explain the classic of what part of a tall ship you see first coming in to port from the ocean and which part you see last using flat earth.
Or you could just believe satellites are made up, radio waves bouncing around globe are made up, what you see from high enough up in a plane is made up, pictures in space are made up. This HUGE conspiracy to trick people.

A dude who along with his family has profited by billions since getting in office? Where have you been?
A dude that shut down the entire fucking country in his first term and brags about it - greatest destruction of American freedom in history?
A dude that kisses the ass of Israel every day and starts completely unconstitutional war?
If you don't see the shit the face of the American people has been rubbed in by this dude then you are beyond any evidence.

People that are afraid of a terminal are difficult for me to understand. You can actually do more with CLI than GUI for many programs. Of course I started messing with computers before there were GUIs. But still.

With zero justification for doing any such thing or practicing continuing extortion on Venezuela. Nothing to celebrate.
And attacking Iran is a whole different kettle of fish. Very large country of 90 million people well armed and its arms well protected. Remember how we pounded sand in Afghanistan for 20 years and recently could even stop the Houtis? This will not go at all well.

It's on my todo list. Tried GUIX for a while for similar reasons and because I am crazy about lambda languages. It was a bit too "pure" to be a general machine for me.

Banning domestic surveillance is fucking hilarious. OpenAI was forced by government to keep logs of chats and by existing law must turn those over on demand to government. I also expect PRISM like government involvement in OpenAI especially as they are in real financial trouble. Also Americans are MASSIVELY SURVEILLED 24/7 even without OpenAI.

If that is so then what good do you think they believe will ensue if others believe what they wish is true?

A question for well versed phone privacy folks
I have heard contradictory things about location tracking on the phone.
Some say turning off location services stops location being tracked.
Others say that this is not so. Location information is still gathered, even then and even in Airplane mode by the phone baseband computer which is actually in charge of radios. These folks say that turning off Location Services merely stops location information be accessed by otherwise allowed apps. And that if the phone is not connected to wifi or cellular no location information can be phoned home until it is connected again.
So what is the truth of it? I have even seen the same privacy advocates seem to say both of these different things on different occasions.
