The President and Vice President of the electoral court are Bolsonaro appointees. The other five are either Lula or previous leftist appointments. Thus Bolsonaro appointed hold the procedural advantage, i.e., will be able to start a process of annulment, but the final decision will require a majority of the court, I believe.

With Omar getting searched and grand juried just before the election, I’m looking for arrests for election crimes during early/postal voting as a potential indicator of an at least partially transformed electoral system.

Neo-feminism has forced hysteria back into the zeitgeist.
If it’s real enough to be advanced as a legal defence, then it must be acknowledged as a phenomenon.
If it is a phenomenon, then it is reasonable to react to it.
If we are asked to forgive murder due to hysteria, we can’t be condemned for including it in our decision making on other issues.

Regarding Bessent's Secret Service handle, "Swamp Fox"
From wiki:
The "Swamp Fox" is the historical nickname of Francis Marion, an American Revolutionary War militia leader who used clever guerrilla tactics, fast hit-and-run ambushes, and deep knowledge of South Carolina's swamp terrain to successfully elude and frustrate British forces.

The phrase "cytokines storm" is going to connect to a TON of other problems beyond myocarditis and miscarriage.
Guess what kicked off "long covid" for many people? Guess what preceded a ton of autoimmune diseases?
Guess what happened before fertility issues emerged?
And so on.
This snowball is just beginning its roll down the slope.

There's a nuke embedded in Fauci's miscarriage messages:

What I am seeing suggests the events were more of a demonstration than an actual effort to get all of those men into Europe. Morocco emptied its prisons and asylums to make a point.

My question is: Did Morocco do this of their own volition or in concert with others?

The tidal pull of the USA/European welfare state and ports border policies yielded protest (Central American in my recollection) from nations affected by the transit of illegals through their nations. Morocco has certainly suffered from the masses moving into North Africa.

Act too soon, and the gambit fails.
Trump is going to keep uttering his demand, even as he's reasonably sure the Senate will not act (and even if they did it'd be inadequate milquetoast half-measures), and when the last possible moment for executive action to save the nation arrives, he'll act.
If I had to bet on it, I'd wager some time right around the 4th of July, but that is just my personal guess at the moment.

2026-05-03 21:24:11 UTC

13/?
Trump has to be able to argue before SCOTUS in an emergency hearing that the only, the singular, the unavoidable demand for action is his to take at that exact moment in history. He has to be able to prove that the legislature cannot act as a branch of government fast enough to deal with the problem. He has to persuade SCOTUS that the only way to save the Constitution is emergency action that bypasses typical daily procedures, including the extra-constitutional Senate filibuster rule.

2026-05-03 21:24:00 UTC

- reply

12/?
Because the Senate's failure to act is not a riot, because they are not burning down buildings or killing people in the streets, Trump has to wait until the last moment when only decisive action by the President is capable of dealing with a threat that the Senate kicked down the road far enough to make it impossible for any legislative action to save the day. If he acted too soon. SCOTUS would kick it all back to the legislature.

2026-05-03 21:23:51 UTC

11/?
What I think Trump is doing is pointing out that the Senate is refusing to literally save the nation from an electoral system guaranteed to bring the American Experiment to an unsuccessful end.
I further think that Trump is reasonably confident that Senate leadership will ride that extra-constitutional filibuster straight down the drain.

2026-05-03 21:23:37 UTC

10/?
Just as we saw with Iran, with riots in various cities, etc., I think we are going to see with Trump a very careful selection of the exact moment to act.
I do not think that Trump really cares that much about the SAVE Act. I am pretty confident that whatever version would get passed would have loopholes, etc., that would leave open far to much wiggle room for dirty politics to continue.

2026-05-03 21:23:15 UTC

- reply

9/?
So, what I think we are seeing from Trump is a repeated series of demands, spoken and in writing, and in a very public manner, to demand the Senate cease an extra-constitutional practice that prevents the legislature from providing remedy for an ongoing existential threat to the nation.
But why, one may ask, has Trump not bulldozed past the filibuster already?

2026-05-03 21:23:03 UTC

- reply

8/?
I'd assert that the Senate's refusal to abandon a rule of their own manufacture, which refusal avoids constitutionally defined practice for that body, and which refusal prevents the passage of legislative means to remedy existentially damaging disorder, as in failure to clean up our diseased election systems, then the President is duty-bound to act to remedy that disorder and recover peaceful order for the nation.

Good luck getting some old Senate mummy to put on the adult diaper and take the long late shift at the podium overnight!
When most people think of the Insurrection Act, they imagine riots in the streets. To invoke the Act, the President must utter a demand for the rioters to disperse and can only take action after a refusal to comply.
But the Insurrection Act is not limited to violence in the streets. It may be invoked where disorder existentially threatens the nation.

In the present instance, the constitutional means by which debate can be maintained in the Senate is ignored. It is not hard to understand why. If the so-called talking filibuster were required, then Senators would have to stay up late maintaining debate in an uninterrupted manner from the podium. They'd have to expend substantial effort. In the age of television, trivial utterances, like reading the phone book, your grandmother's recipes, etc., would be embarrassing.

Ordinarily, were business to be ticking nicely along, The Senate could invent whatever rules it liked. It could require silly hats at the podium, for example. But if that requirement for silly hats led to paralysis of the legislative branch in terms of fulfilling its constitutional duties, then it could well become a question to be answered by action by the Executive.

I think Trump is pointing out a key point of failure to perform the duties demanded by the Constitution to maintain peaceful order.
Let us remember that the present form of the filibuster is not a phenomenon laid out or required by the Constitution. While in day-to-day operation it may not be unconstitutional, it is certainly extra-constitutional. It is an invention of the Senate, not of the authors of the Constitution or its Amendments.

We have seen Trump repeatedly demand the termination of the 60 vote form of the filibuster so that Congress can get on with the task of cleaning up elections sufficiently such that the People may have confidence in their results.
I do not think that Trump is merely grousing about an annoying impediment to progress.

@grey4626 pointed out that these powers are more than sufficient to pierce the separation of powers between the three branches of USA government. Without delving into a complex legal argument here, I am simply going to agree with that assertion. And I think that Trump is repeatedly pointing to this conclusion.

Many people, including the recent the piece on X by @grey4626, have pointed out that the Insurrection Act gives profound powers to the Executive when the systems and structures of government, be it local, state, or federal, fail to perform their duty to maintain peaceful order.

Especially when he freezes out European, Russian, and Chinese oil companies.
Drill baby, drill in the USA. Venezuela. Iran. Buddies with UAE, Saudi, and the other Gulf States. And then Russia comes in from the cold to resolve Ukraine and add its capacity to the markets.
Trump is leading the world towards an abundance-based economy. Even Iran will be made great again.

I think he's happy to push that a little farther. If Iran's wells are severely impacted, the fields will have to be redeveloped.
And there's the Deal.
Trump may offer to enrich USA petroleum companies as a way of introducing a form of a security guarantee. As a way to align interests. As a way to demonstrate that the question of Iran can be answered in a way that yields prosperity for all former belligerents.
I'd see this as a very Trumpian outcome.

I have seen here may posts regarding the ticking clock imposed upon Iranian oil production by Trump's blockade.
When Iran runs out of storage and the wells are turned off, potentially irreversible damage ensues.
I have seen suggestions that Trump expects capitulation before this damage emerges.

I think the Secret Service doomers that are appearing like mushrooms in cow shit today are doing two things:
1. Sow discord (as usual).
2. Pressure Trump into a more visible and optically 'authoritarian' security mode, thus contributing to the leftist narrative of Trump as evil villain.

This is developing the proportions of a genuine epic.

Trump appears to loathe the decision and especially its retrospective nature, but his comment regarding the dollar amount puts in perspective the size of the USA economy and federal budget.
He's unhappy about that gouge in revenue but demonstrating that he is following the rule of law while he renders the decision essentially meaningless, with that well-articulated plan, in the medium-long term.
It's a flex.

Let me translate this for you:
"This is PEANUTS BITCHES!!!"
Trump already has a well articulated plan to use other powers to similar effect and he operates in trillions.
This is a bit more than a rounding error, but is not decisive.
