Just gonna say it how it is…
If you HODL and never spend or use your bitcoin, you are a spectator, not a participant.
Bitcoin’s price goes higher when more people accept it as payment.
If you want NGU, spend and replace.
Get in the game.

If weight is such an issue for carry on bags then why are we not weighing the humans who get on the flight as well?
IMO doesn’t make sense to fret over 2-3kg when some people have 50kg extra weight on them.
Like most things that make 0 sense, it’s a scheme to make more money.

I had a 180° change of perspective around paying with bitcoin if the merchant is converting to Fiat.
I tried it once and it sparked such a fantastic conversation but now every time I see a square terminal, I ask to pay in Bitcoin.
If every bitcoiner (or even 10%) did this, adoption would skyrocket and we would see a completely different trajectory for bitcoin.
We are all Satoshi. No individual can go it alone. We win through collective action.

You don’t own the stocks you think you own.
In 1994, UCC Article 8 introduced the legal concept of a “security entitlement" for securities held through intermediaries.
That sounds boring, but it has tremendous consequences.
Because once your “property” becomes an entitlement in an intermediary system, the question isn’t simply “Do I own it?”
It’s, “What happens to my claim when the system breaks?”
That’s the rabbit hole David Webb goes down in The Great Taking
Highly recommend The Great Taking if you want to understand how the system is set up to steal what you think you own.

It’s pretty wild when you start working in the Bitcoin industry how many companies won’t pay in bitcoin😅
But I agree 100% when you earn bitcoin it’s much easier to spend it

I think it’s okay that there’s a general apathy towards building the network and actually participating in bitcoin. We’re still early and there are growing circular economies and more merchants coming on board every day.

Pain is a signal to heal.
If you cover up the pain, you will not heal.
Pretty simple and obvious, but in practice, very difficult to implement.

Bullish. Sat dollar parity is coming sooner than most people, even Bitcoiners think. 10 years is quite aggressive but possible

Every time I post positively about Nostr on X it’s crickets. Zero response.
But the minute I complain and say Nostr is “failing miserably” I get a ton of engagement and even a response from @nprofile…5hgr
The algorithm on X is designed for negativity. I don’t think Nostr is failing miserably, I understand it’s a platform not a protocol, and this little experiment is proof that we need Nostr more than ever.

I despise censorship and value free speech as much as anyone but if I make a post and someone starts commenting extremely vulgar language that is fundamentally associated with me and my reputation.
Maybe it’s technically not feasible but I do think the author of a post should be able to remove replies.

@npub1lhz…fe2x did an incredible job with the edit and we could not have done it without @nprofile…6j2s
What I love most about this film is that it shows how grassroots adoption is happening in East Africa. We hear on podcast about bitcoin adoption in Africa, but to see it with my own eyes made me more foolish than ever.

Also genuinely curious if you could cite any of the examples of censorship?
I don’t mind censoring some things such as porn, anything illegal, people hurting themselves etc. I’m not here to see that stuff. but if there is a single case of free speech being censored I’ll delete the app and leave primal right now.

We Are Satoshi episode 50 was a perfect example of the idea that WE ARE ALL SATOSHI.
Two episodes ago I had @nprofile…fyh3 on to discuss the ongoing fight for food sovereignty, specifically what Texas Slim and the @nprofile…7slg are doing.
Fast-forward two episodes and I learned that John and Nadja from @npub1vda…gm7x actually found their supplier of beef tallow through beef initiative.
This is actually what it is all about. This is what building on bitcoin looks like. One pioneer paves the way for the next.

Thought provoking article by @nprofile…jttu read by @nprofile…2ur6 - Nostr Unpopular Opinions
https://fountain.fm/episode/3kPZnWhUX2SIKJg2x6Bd
My main takeaway is that 99.9% of people don’t care about the “tech.” Nobody knows what a protocol is and why it matters…
Therefore the entrepreneur’s job is to use Nostr as a tool to bring real value and solve problems for people rather than conform to the protocol at all costs.
I learned something similar when interviewing the guys at @npub1a0g…dw7g - they found a gap in the market and simply solved restaurants’ problems, reinforcing their products/services with bitcoin/nostr rather than make them the center of the business itself.
Bullish on @nprofile…0k0s and Nostr nonetheless. Svetski makes some very good points here and this will certainly trigger the hardcore Nostr users 👌

This is one of those “imposter syndrome” moments for me… but after obsessing over bitcoin and witnessing how it’s changed my life- mentally, physically, spiritually and professionally I definitely have a lot to share.

TRY THIS HACK next time you visit a restaurant or cafe.
If you want to onboard a merchant to accept bitcoin it’s not going to happen the first time you visit.
Whenever you ask, “do you accept bitcoin as payment?” expect a “NO” 99% of the time.
This is normal. Chances are you are the first person to ever ask.
Rather than get discouraged, ask if they will accept a tip in bitcoin.
In my experience 90% will say yes. Have them download a lightning wallet and one minute later they have used bitcoin for the first time.
If they say no, my friend @nprofile…h4yx has the perfect response: “Okay, if you don’t want any money that’s fine.”
By casually referring to bitcoin as money you trigger an emotional response which cements the memory in their mind.
Next time they hear about bitcoin they’ll remember turning it down. That’s a win.

What’s counterproductive is worrying about a non-issue.
Is bitcoin still decentralized and secure? Yep, on with my day.
