I am not sad about this. I think it is liberating. All of the cringy things you've ever done have been largely forgotten already. Anything that does stick around will be consumed by the exploding sun.
There something profoundly beautiful in the inescapable temporariness of it all.

I recently realized that if someone was to ask me to help them solve a problem on their computer the only advice I could give them is "Install Malwarebytes?" and "I can help you install Linux". I don't know anymore. I don't care anymore. I told everyone 20 years ago this was going to happen and no one cared. The "free tech support" is now smoking cigars, playing with radios, and waiting for it to all collapse.

I had a very strange realization yesterday. Punk rock taught me to be ethical, Cory Doctorow (@nprofile…qz4x) taught me to not trust technology that I didn't ABSOLUTELY own and the socio-political ramifications for failing to do so, and the Free Software community taught me how be technologically self sufficient and how to use the weapons needed to fight back against bourgeois tech.
Thank you all I feel uniquely and oddly prepared for the current day.
