I’m personally done with these sucker devices. I knew that they tend to leak your address so I always used a PO box but the attack vector is way too high, be it software side, supply chain or manufacturing side.

That’s again false narrative.
My question to you is quite simple. How hard is it to push a malicious bug in seed signer code vs bitcoin core.
I know you guys must be honest people but there is literally no economic incentive for anyone to look at it and it’s just the truth.
I will prefer to use bitcoin core and Debian.

Truth has been spoken by @npub1cn4…3vle , because he has no referral link to share.
I hope he does a dedicated episode of showing how it’s done. While it’s quite easy, I see there are people who are been psyoped by the industry that it’s hard and not for non technical users.

It’s hilarious that the people telling you to roll dice and not rely on entropy pool of Linux kernel and use their shady software wallet, have signed their software release via same pgp keys generated by Linux kernel lol
If Linux is compromised then we got way bigger problems to worry about as no bitcoin release can be trusted and the whole project is dead.
Dice rolls are just security theatre.

Wrong. Just getting clean entropy doesn’t make it safe.
If the software you are interacting is compromised, it can still leak your seeds.
And while using hardware wallet, all those secure element are already back doored by NSA.
If the software isn’t heavily audited and reproducible, it’s a black box. It can remain open source but the libraries it’s using can be compromised or backdoored.
So using dice or any other method isn’t gonna save you. That’s an illusion.

2026-10-13 12:37:27 UTC

- reply

Nope it’s a false narrative. Bitcoin core is bitcoin. If bitcoin core gets hacked, that means bitcoin is dead. All the satoshi coins are at stake.
It’s not about being hacked or finding bugs. core and Linux can’t be back doored simply because of economic.
Also remember no other software is as heavily audited and reproducible like core. You don’t know which libraries are these so called open source software using.
The code can remain open source meanwhile there libraries can be back doored. That’s why reproducibility and heavy auditing of the software matters.
Only core and Debian full fill the criteria.

I don’t trust yeti 2.0 documents, even though it’s safe. But still I’m not using there commands line. And 3-7 isn’t for me. I went through it for knowing the workflow and created my own version with bitcoin core and tailsOs.
For multi sig I use command line. It’s easy and you can use gemini or ChatGPT if you get stuck, if you are non technical like me.
#nevent1q…vgft

2026-10-13 12:24:42 UTC

I was using coldcard in a multi sig with sparrow. I recommend coldcard to most of my friends and family who wanted a self custody solution. But I didn’t realised that it was living a fake dream of self custody.
Coldcard hack was an eye opener for me. I was lucky to escape it. I was confused and was looking for the answers. I’m a non technical guy, I don’t know how to code and stuff. For me it was way more confusing than most of you guys out there.
Even though I am non technical but I ain’t stupid. The reaction that the community had was just blaming the users. “Oh you should have rolled dice” “Do multi vendor multi sig” and many other bull shit narrative.
For me it was enough, so I decided to do my own work and not trust any single one of these losers out there.
After spending my time, I came to know that hardware wallets are just a psyop. It’s designed to rug you in thousand possible ways, be it via hardware/ software back doors, supply chain attacks and many more and yeah this open source narrative is a fed psyop. If something is open source that doesn’t mean it can’t be back doored.
The only thing that’s open source, heavily audited, reproducible software is bitcoin core and Linux. Everything else is either back doored or waiting to be back doored.
If you say these two words to any person in the space selling you hardware wallet, they get offended. Meanwhile satoshi and real OGs are still using it.
Then they say, “oh it’s for the technical guys, normal person will fuck that up”
Dude if you are taking self custody in your own hands, that means you know how to send and receive bitcoin. Bitcoin core is nothing more than that. Don’t fall for this psyop.
Now how to securely use it:
While you can just download bitcoin core, verify it and create wallet on online computer dedicated towards it, it’s 100x safer than hardware wallets, but doing so for large amounts won’t be optimal.
While you can use the guide below of yeti 2.0, I didn’t use the commands from this guide directly because I trust no one at this point. But reading this guide will give you an idea on how to set up the wallet using online and offline laptops.
I will try to be concise but here is the work flow:
1) You need 2 laptops dedicated for this purpose.
2) On the online laptop download bitcoin core, verify it and sync it.
3) Take a USB stick download tailsOs and flash it on the usb. You can get the work flow of it on tailsOs website.
4) Boot your online laptop with tailsOs and download bitcoin core into its persistent storage.
5) Now take your second laptop, disable network using BIOS. Then boot tailsOs. Open the persistent storage where you downloaded bitcoin core, copy it to the desktop, run it offline, generate key, encrypt it (optional) and save the .dat file into usb, sd card , CDs (use Azo dye CDs, they got 50 years of life) make multiple copies of it. You can also write the xprv on a paper, you just have to use command lines.
It’s easy, if you get confused, you can use gemini, it will guide you through.
6) Then take a different usb stick label it psbt. Plug that in and copy the xpub. And use that xpub and create a watch only wallet on online laptop.
7) So your work flow will be- create psbt on online laptop- use usb to put that psbt into offline laptop- sign transaction- transfer it back to online laptop and broad cast it
8) it feels like it’s too much but it’s way easier. You can also create multi sig but you have to use the command lines on bitcoin core and it’s very easy to do and if you get stuck, you can use the help of ChatGPT of gemini.
I have attached yeti 2.0 file, if someone wants to go through that. My approach was a bit different than them.
If someone needs help regarding it, just let me know below. Just don’t fall for the psyop that it’s not for non technical users.
Fuck these losers.

If something is open source that simply doesn’t means it’s safe.
Heavily audited and reproducibility of all its libraries is required to be safe.
The only thing that fulfils is bitcoin core and Linux because these software are protecting trillions of dollars worth of money.
Any other thing accept that is a gamble. There are thousands of ways in which one can backdoor the software. Your dice rolls or any other paranoia method is just useless from these exploits.
I myself didn’t knew that but have spent my time day and night on this topic after I nearly escaped coldcard hack.
