The rock concert plays a unique, powerful role in creating community in society.
Which is why the oligarch class is trying to kill it.

Really like this piece.
Parallel to this: I've been thinking a lot recently about we've turned online parasocial relationships into activism. It's not just that people feel personal hatred towards their opposites online, it's that they feel compelled to bully as a means to exercise political power.

It's a blistering takedown of Witkoff's incompetence (which you're familiar with, if you know of his role in the Ukraine talks) but this skips over the fact that these negotiations weren't meant to be serious. They were a ruse.
Trump and Netanyahu decided the start date of this war on February 11.

Trump is threatening 10-25% tariffs on his NATO allies for sending military personnel in Greenland ("for purposes unknown") because he says he needs to buy Greenland to station more military equipment there, even though America could send more personnel but hasn't.

So, to recap, Ukraine and Europe understand that America has effectively endorsed a 28-point plan to force Kyiv to capitulate, set a Thursday deadline to accept it, and threatened to cut off all aid.
Now Marco Rubio says it's all wrong, that's not the plan, there's no deadline and no threat.

Prime Minister Mark Carney announces that Canada will recognize the state of Palestine at the 80th Session of the United Nations General Assembly in September.
Carney says this move comes amid Israeli settlement building in the West Bank and its relentless war on Gaza.

Alright, who's ready for the most hilarious Canadian drama imaginable?
So last week, Kendrick Lamar plays two sold out shows in Toronto (with SZA). People are hyped.
Drake's team tried to organize some weird counter-demonatration/show-of-force/livestream but it all fizzled out.

Up here in Canada, the premier of New Brunswick, Blaine Higgs, has been launching an attack on Queer youth, and has been campaigning hard against trans healthcare.
He just got absolutely wrecked. Thrown out of power and defeated in his own riding.
