for those lacking the context from the twitter OP: the rape gangs were not just random horny foreigners. they were (/are!) an organised criminal network actively enabled and encouraged by the police, social services, health services, civil servants, and the media.
there are cases of Pakistani men bringing 11 year old British girls to hospitals for abortions or to remove shards of glass from their vaginas, no questions asked by medical professionals, and released right back into their “care”. a British man was arrested for trespassing for trying to break into a house where his daughter was being gang raped. I could go on but, again, you really need to read the entire report. child protection gave Pakistani men tours of orphanages so they could choose who they wanted to take.
the reason all this was done was to aggressively quell any native dissent against the wonders of multiculturalism, so that communists could import third worlders forever and win elections forever. the Labour Party in particular but frankly the entire political establishment for at least 30 years has functionally been a rapes for votes scheme.
if selling native girls to foreigners for sexual slavery and torture in exchange for their electoral support isn’t treason then I don’t know what is.
this people need to be given the death penalty in an orderly fashion or else it will happen in a disorderly fashion.

then you are more optimistic than me on the timeline. I think we have the low-hanging fruit of people who will be interested for either technical or ideological reasons. but for the vast swathes of normies, fiat is always going to work better. until they are made to care about either inflation, privacy, or censorship resistance, you literally can’t build anything superior, as judged by criteria they care about.
I don’t mean this to be too doomery. I still think we win in the end and of course all this stuff ought to be built to facilitate victory. I’m just trying to be realistic about *how* we win.

2026-02-12 09:32:29 UTC

2026-01-24 09:51:42 UTC

heine borel and anything relying on compactness fails.
weirdest/coolest result is IVT fails too, which is bizarre because on R continuity is strictly stronger than IVP, but in dense-but-not-complete R that flips.

2026-01-23 13:12:46 UTC

they don’t tell you that virtually every concept surrounding continuity works on functions from Q to Q.
they don’t tell you this because they want you to be ignorant and afraid.

ah but you are assuming the algebra works such that (a,b)*(c,d)=(a*c,b*d) whereas I am analogising it to how C works with reals.

😂

2026-01-21 22:34:07 UTC

- reply

think of it this way: to perform any arithmetic operation in QxQ you can only possibly require multiplication and addition of rationals, which, given Q is closed (just not complete) will give you answers in QxQ too.

2026-01-21 22:30:15 UTC

- reply

why don’t they work? every nonzero element has a multiplicative inverse (which is kinda trivially demonstrable). what are you thinking the issue is?

2026-01-21 22:27:07 UTC

- reply

I think you are reading too much into it. QxQ is useless, just fun. you may have missed it but I declared the other day this is a mathslop account now.

2026-01-21 21:46:00 UTC

exactly

2026-01-21 21:45:38 UTC

I don’t think so. {a+bi : a,b∈Q} is a field, multiplication exists and is closed. it’s just not complete, but that’s obvious because Q isn’t complete.
