How do you do division of labor in parenting? Still haven’t found a system that works for us or me. I’m the primary care provider for our kid; but I have to practically do everything. There’s your traditional tasks - taking care of laundry, meals, entertainment, discipline and in between. And then there are days like today when I have to be the tech support. Making sure his games work. Creating functional accounts so he can play said games. Then making sure everything works. And finally have to play said games with him because “daddy is not a gamer” is kinda exhausting. Would I be a jerk, if I skipped cooking today? What if I was sick? Will a back pain justify my skipping of chores? I dunno.
Recently, instead of explaining/talking/whining, I just don’t do my things anymore. If you’re hungry, go make your own food or eat cereal. (There’s a 50 percent chance of inedible food or fire hazard). So there’s that.
Anyway, sorry about this. It’s none of your problem. Maybe I needed some assurance that I’m not losing my mind

The defense mechanism I came up with is asking them directly - what do they mean by their words. When someone is gaslighting me or rude to me, making them repeat their words often times gives them time to think and possibly change their statement. Maybe they think I’m too thick in the head because of my confusion. But it’s okay. I don’t need that kinda people in my life anyway
