I think I've developed my art style in a similar way to pug dogs, its become so squished that I think its potentially detrimental, I may need to dial things back
Or develop a new style that mimics how I used to draw like 10 years ago, much to think on

The fact that I have to look at steam games and demos with the same discerning eye as when i look at high quality art because of the chance of shitty ai garbage is genuinely so heartbreaking

Christ, I remember why I don't interact here often lol, some people have no ability to think or talk objectively. It's gotten so bad all over the internet in general, you're either 100% for or against everything, if you arent a perfect ally you're an enemy, if you want to be rational then you're part of the problem, this mindset is eating away at peoples brains
This is a porn site

Recently finished some manga and its weirdly sparked an old desire I had to make manga and I'm genuinely starting to wonder if it would even be possible to build an audience for a ecchi or safe for work comic
A shonen battle manga style story seems like it could be more or less simple to do, but I am no writer or storyteller and I dont even know if I'm knowledgable enough about the topics I'd like to explore in a comic hmmm hmmm

@nprofile…rqhe And more over the people who make the AI models profit from it, by having thousands and thousands of artists' work as your theoretical library to pull from at any moment allows those same people to sell their AI as being more "accurate" or "powerful"
While you could maybe say AI itself cant steal, the people making the AI and profiting off of them certainly can and do.

2026-07-30 13:45:00 UTC

- reply

@nprofile…rqhe Taking other peoples work and profiting off of it without consent, credit or compensation is theft, artist can learn by copying and incorporating things they like from other artists, this is a purely living and sentient act. An AI doesnt "learn" like we do, it doesnt make choices or decisions, an AI taking from artists isnt it learning how to use a certain technique, its lifting things wholesale and slapping them together like throwing everything into a blender

@nprofile…3jty @nprofile…ff7f @nprofile…sw03 I've never even HEARD of Steamboy until RIGHT NOW, that's for sure something I gotta check out

2026-07-30 05:27:56 UTC

- reply

@nprofile…n7p2 Oh no for sure, but that's a totally different much more serious conversation that I've already had ad nauseum with people, as I said at some point I think ANY use of AI in its broad modern sense is unacceptable, Im just curious about how people feel about it being used to "create" things

2026-07-30 05:26:12 UTC

- reply

@nprofile…d7zp Well the downsides are stuff like stealing from artists or the overwhelming water usage and destruction of local environments to data centers etc etc but those are nebulous to a normal person in that its hard to quantify what "stealing from artists to generate an image" or "it hurts the environment" or "its taking away jobs" ACTUALLY means or its impacts so I say nebulous because people understand that those are *bad* things, but not the details of how or why (usually)

2026-07-30 04:33:44 UTC

- reply

Moreover the fact I've gotten comments outlining specific situations on HOW the AI is used and how they feel has told me a lot as well

2026-07-30 04:32:24 UTC

- reply

To continue the questions are vague on purpose, Im not looking for specifics or caveats, Im wholly interested on the overall feel behind the use of AI, not in specific cases
Mostly, does the personal enjoyment of the result outweigh the incorporeal and nebulous downsides, its easy to say one doesnt like AI because it hurts the environment but make exceptions if they really like a picture or style

2026-07-30 01:42:38 UTC

- reply

@nprofile…27x6 Christ no, If I ever use AI people are allowed to beat me to death with stones, I just wanna get a feel for how other people feel cause for me its fully unacceptable but I've seen a lot of other people (and artist) be more okay with it

2026-07-30 01:34:22 UTC

I wanna get a gauge of how people feel about entirely AI and partially AI images and see where the line lies for most people

@nprofile…rqhe Not so much that uncensored art is posted on another site, but that its being linked to on pixiv, which I can understand at least the idea behind, still stupid and irritating to have to deal with but its no patreon at least...

Nows a good time to say
If you'd like to support me in a small way go check out my fanbox! its got alts, full res clean pictures and sometimes uncensored and nude versions of drawings! all in one archive that I constantly (intermittently) update with new drawings and hopefully in the future things will improve to where I can start up character polls and one shot sketches again
Give it a look and follow if nothing else: https://amazingpanties.fanbox.cc/

@nprofile…sxjz It is but that's just how it goes, everytime we use any site we're basically agreeing to those terms, whether we've seen them or not. Which is how its always been but because sites are so strict these days it feels more egregious since its so easy to accidentally do something wrong

@nprofile…sxjz Basically they assume because you're using the site that you've seen and read every line of their terms of service and thus should know exactly what you're doing wrong, therefore they wont tell you what rules you're breaking or where, just that you are and you need to fix it or be taken off the site

Even worse is that pixiv wont even TELL me what is actually causing the issue so i can only assume its the fact that my fanbox links to a megalink that has uncensored stuff on it, I literally cant think of anything else

What the hell is happening these days, being an artist is quickly becmoing more and more impossible, so many sites wont let you cross promote, have extremely strict posting rules and generally have zero ways an artist can protect themselves from getting their shit stolen, holy fuck

2026-06-30 08:36:20 UTC

I dont know if something changed recently with pixiv that I didnt see but my pixiv was suspended and now I have to go through and delete like 80% of my posts and edit every single post's description because apparently you arent allow to link off site to any place that they have "reason to believe" could have uncensored images on it
So because so many of my pics and posts had links to my fanbox (WHICH IS A PIXIV SITE) I have to go and edit ALL of them to get the account back

I should redraw this now that I kinda know how to draw in a toriyama style

By the way for those who don't know I have a fanbox! I won't ask for anyone to sub to it since I dont update it as often as I should, but if you would like full access to all the stuff I've drawn in a megalink over the last 5 or so years in full res with no watermarks plus sometimes alts or if you just want to support me a bit check it out!

@nprofile…r2j6 It was definitely a choice, not particularly the one I would have made lol from what I hear hot toys seems to drop the ball like that more often than not

@nprofile…8py2 I mean I fully understand why they would do that, putting like the real actresses face on the figure was a choice made without thinking lmao but also I thought they did send out some figures? I saw some reviews on youtube of it I think

@nprofile…r2j6 I dont know a lot about star wars or hot toys if im honest so all I really know is that they apparently put the real life kid actor's face on the old costume and made it really weird lol
