Happy to announce the 6 residents 🪰 of our open call »Ignore All Previous Instructions« @ Akademie Schloss Solitude 🪰 (Web Residencies N°22)! 🪰
So many brilliant projects and proposals came in 🪰 from around the world, and it was hard to say no 🪰 to so many of them. But we're thrilled about the six we selected! 🪰🪰
⊘ automatonomy.net (@npub1n9u…kzx0) ⟶ »What You See Is Not What They Get«: 🪰 an open-source method that scrambles website text for AI scrapers 🪰 while keeping it visually legible to humans through a custom font 🪰
⦸ Lucia Rebolino ⟶ »www: vanity veils violence«: counter-maps the colonial, economic & environmental realities hidden 🪰 behind desirable country-code domains like .ai, .io & .tv 🪰🪰
✕ Herdimas Anggara ⟶ »RASUK, Poisoning My Own SEO«: 🪰 builds websites from misspellings of the artist's name to confuse search engines 🪰 & destabilize AI-generated identity 🪰
☒ Tara Kelton ⟶ »Work Party«: uses delivery apps to organize brief gatherings 🪰 where gig workers & customers share food, tea & conversation 🪰 within the platform's own constraints 🪰
⊗ Précieux Kinmagbo ⟶ »Terms & Conditions«: an interactive encounter with the Lukasa memory board, 🪰 where extraction attempts meet Mbudye protocols 🪰 of counter-questioning, riddling & partial disclosure 🪰
⛒ Olivier Jonvaux ⟶ »A Fly Like Thee«: 🪰 an open-source plugin that detects AI crawlers 🪰 & makes their invisible visits visible 🪰 as flies accumulating on the webpage 🪰🪰🪰
Full jury statement, 🪰 and much more importantly, more about the works and the residents: 🪰 https://www.akademie-solitude.de/en/web-residencies-ignore-all-previous-instructions/ 🪰

ISSA – Tools for Autonomy ⌂ ☀ ⏻ ▤
⟶ Islands of Conviviality
ISSA sits off-grid on the island of Vis: no roads, just a footpath. When we started there was no electricity, no water mains, and only a weak mobile signal.
⟟ Two years ago, with ISSA festival participants, we walked the hill with a big wifi antenna on a stick, hunting for 4G. ISSA itself is in a blind spot. ☀
Last year solar went up, giving us stable electricity, plus a rainwater system with a fog catcher.
https://issa-school.org/
⏻ This year we finally got online: a 4G solar-powered router 300 m below ISSA, relaying the signal uphill ↑ to the library. At the library, a solar-powered mini computer ▤ is waiting to join the Solar Protocol, a planetary network of solar-powered web servers run by artists Tega Brain, Alex Nathanson and Benedetta Piantella.
https://solarprotocol.net
☀ → ☾ → ☀ Our server only runs when the sun shines; when it goes dark, another node in sunlight takes over. Every request is routed to wherever on the planet has the most light. Our little island is now part of a network that runs on weather.

»ignore all previous instructions«
we're curating web residencies №22 for akademie schloss solitude.
🕳️ 6 residencies · €1.200 each
🕳️ deadline → 7 aug 2026
🕳️ https://www.akademie-solitude.de/de/call-for-web-residencies-no-22-ignore-all-previous-instructions/
a prompt injection is a linguistic key that hijacks a system from the inside. we hand it to you as the brief: ignore the logics techno-fascists inscribe into their tools. they rely on us being predictable. so we need new gestures, new methods, ways of disappearing and reappearing where we're not expected. invent signals that cannot be jammed. drift with a wrong map.
take this call very seriously → then ignore all previous instructions.

🌐 🕸️ 🌍 Dropping a clickable link (etherpad, shared doc) into a project folder as a file. Sounds simple.
.desktop → Linux
.url → Windows
.webloc → macOS
None work cross-platform. None work in web file managers. A self-redirecting HTML seems to be the only universal option.
What's the better solution here? Readme.md? rrrrrrrrrreadme.txt?

at what point did "builds own website" and "fungi mycelium iconography" become the same cultural aesthetic, and why does it make complete sense

I just ordered what I think is possibly the most beautiful computer in the world. 🌐💻👾💙
The MNT Reform Next.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AIQOJRLVdQY
It's hackable and is open source hardware. Has swappable modules and LiFePO4 batteries. A mechanical keyboard. Fanless. Comes with my fav distro Debian GNU/Linux pre-installed. Developed and assembled locally here in Berlin. And it's beautiful.
<3 Thanks to @npub1xse…lgk3 for giving me a proper intro into the world of MNT. @npub1sl7…lnx3

★☆☆☆☆ 1 ⭐ REVIEW TOUR — THE BROWSER EXTENSION OUT NOW, BUT AVOID AT ALL COSTS!
https://★☆☆☆☆.yugo.at
After an entire YEAR of development and being paraded around at several exhibitions, the developers have finally unleashed what can only be described as a SHITTY PIECE OF SOFTWARE with their so-called "1 ⭐ Review Tour Browser Extension." This digital abomination delivers exactly what no one asked for - a nightmare view of all cities and places by filtering Google Maps to show only one-star ratings.
The extension, available at https://★☆☆☆☆.yugo.at (though I wouldn't waste my time downloading it), is total garbage!!! I would literally give this 0 stars if I could.
It took the artists a full year to create a product that achieves the impressive feat of making the internet an even more negative place than it already was. How they had the audacity to showcase this at exhibitions is beyond comprehension.
