FYI, just heard from Tim that he's in touch with the folks at the hosting company so it'll likely be fixed soonish.

I’ve now got posts from 3 hours ago so it seems to have just taken some time to catch up and is otherwise working (apart from creating an archive but that’s something different).

‘for the moment’ was key. I caught up with posts up to yesterday. So the fix was temporary.
My previous archive request has been cancelled and I’m allowed to ask one again. So wondering if the server wasn’t/didn’t restart(ed) and then the same issue happened. Feels like something is running out of some resource.

seems to work again for me at the moment.

same here. Alsoi i tried to request an archive of my posts and that’s been stuck at Compiling your archive… for a few days.
I emailed @npub1e92…vg2j in case he hadn’t noticed as there’s no message about this on his alt id but didn’t get a reply so he may be offline at the moment, hopefully because he’s enjoying his time somewhere nice (edited as i realised my last bit could have been misread as a complaint which it wasn’t).

As far as I understand this section and other speech limiting laws, also affecting Koreans, are relicts from the war and dictatorships. As usual it's easier to create such laws than to remove them so it takes time and has to get the support of nationals for that to happen. I hope this attempt will succeed.

In #Korea ‘No foreigner sojourning in the Republic of Korea shall engage in any political activity with the exception of cases provided for by this Act or other Acts.’ as per Article 17(2) of the Immigration Control Act.
This may hopefully change depending on the outcome of a constitutional complaint by Open Net, together with Law Firm Innovation, seeking a declaration of unconstitutionality of Article 17(2).

Nearly four decades ago #BillG promised Andre Warufsel and me to send us the source code of his #Basic4K for the #MITS #Altair. He never did and @npub1zfd…f725 described one of my repeted reminders as 'winning last week's Stalking Bill Gates challenge'.
Three days ago he did eventually publish a scan of the source code on his blog.
I updated the story at https://gizmonaut.net/soapflakes/EXE-199711.html

RIP Steve Silberman.
His husband has announced his passing away at https://bsky.app/profile/wardqnormal.bsky.social/post/3l2uljphb2p2e
Very sad news. He was such a kind person and a great ally to #Autists. With a colleague we had a lovely chat with Steve during one of his visits to London in 2019: https://www.flickr.com/photos/acrostich/48127822607/

Do you know which book? I’m not familiar with Fulcanelli and I couldn’t find any book of his matching your description.

I misremembered. The booklet I was thinking of is of palindromic translations.
An Oulipian homophonic translation I really like is that by François Le Lionnais of John Keats:
Un singe débotté est une joie pour l’hiver
A thing of beauty is a joy for ever

There are some wonderful homophonic translations.
The Humpty Dumpty one is a classic:

The Oulipo also published some. I think I have somewhere (though can’t find it at the moment) a short booklet of homophonic translations by Luc Etienne (though I may be confused with Perec). I need to find it!
