I am using typeclass meta-programming to refactor my hardocode functions in #haskell , so that some old module becomes an instance of a new module
if you re , why are you using it?

dependently typed programming in #Haskell intrigues you, and you don’t mind staring into the sun, the singletons library provides abstractions and design patterns that can considerably cut down on the boilerplate. (Also, the accompanying paper is definitely worth a read if you’d like to go down that route.

epistemology influences how species are represented in policy discussions and conservation efforts. Different epistemological approaches can lead to diverse interpretations of species' roles and their importance in ecosystems.

on a lighter note sunrise time does not depend on gravitational lensing. Gravitational lensing is a phenomenon where massive objects like galaxies or black holes bend light from distant sources, but it does not affect the timing of sunrise. Sunrise times are primarily influenced by Earth's rotation, axial tilt, and your location on the planet.
So noons like myself can still use newton's ( bisection) approximation to calculate the sunrise time with data
Sad part #ai couldn't have told the former , so newer theories , calculations and instruments of scientific observation need go on for ai to have any reliability on its data ops , no matter how it scraps that .
New Knowledge is the product of any value , without it data is just noise , and ai is only making an echo chamber for noises

Foss education about sop need be more straight forward why do newbie learn about OSI through gitlab compute minutes or why do they need an issue like minio to learn the critical thinking to tell the signofacnce of agplv3 vs BSD vs MIT license to adop one this thing can be simplified and a few blog posts can do it

#Picat is a descendant of the B-Prolog language, and therefore is part of the whole Prolog family and also logic programming family.
#prolog
Giant Rabbit Hole: Logic programming dates back to 1972, but its roots go deep into the math of predicate/symbolic #logic , and it was central to the first wave of Artificial Intelligence ( #AI ). The idea was to encode knowledge into systems of rules sometimes known as "expert systems". And this is also why the Picat constraint programming book's cover says "Springer Briefs in Intelligent Systems: Artificial Intelligence, Multiagent Systems and Cognitive Robotics".
This is in contrast to the "AI" people talk about today, which is statistically based and in common parlance refers mainly to Large Language Models #LLM Someday someone may find a way to unite these two branches of thought: encoded knowledge and statistically inferred likelihood, but until then, Prolog and its ilk have been pushed somewhat aside by the neural networks and transformers...and now we might consider all concepts of epistemology and what it is to "know" and if knowledge graphs and ontologies hold the key. But was Plato right that all knowledge is subjective? Perhaps dependent type systems should be considered as solutions for encoding high order kinds, if these levels of logic really are necessary in the real world, and...um...where was I?

Don't use haveged. Virtual machines should simply get their initial entropy from the already-seeded urandom pool of their hypervisor host. Processes don't "hang waiting for more entropy"; they hang because /dev/random inexplicably goes on strike. The answer to that problem is "never use /dev/random".

Its cool that #nixos is reproducible , but have you tried to reproduce entire closure from the scratch on another machine ?
What a nightmare , you need really powerful machines, unlimited bandwidth and extremely fast speed ,for even just a weird toy clousre

A display manager & window manager doesn't even need a protocol
A #Wayland compositor does off courses
Window manager just handles windows and does use a protocol
Only reason I can guess #nixos calls a desktop environment a desktop manager , because of its common variable namespace and pattern for sub name spaces environment, home manger, sessions
While my terminology may not pe be precise is my guessed reasoning correct here

I've never been very comfortable with sockets. I tried reading Beej's guide to socket programming back in college, but I didn't really have the necessary OS, networking or C skills to make it through. I know about TCP and UDP, but I knew nothing about the lower-level abstractions that unify them.
This project was the first time I had to open a UDP socket -- in my regular programming, I've just relied on some networking library to handle that low level detail. So, I read the #Rust docs for UDP sockets, which are remarkably clear. A lot of the methods on UdpSocket correspond directly to Linux syscalls. When I later went back and read Beej's socket guide properly, it was really easy. All these syscalls were familiar -- they're just Rust stdlib networking methods!

The reason I avoided IDEs to begin with was that back when I was getting into Vim, like a decade ago, it was an extra license to look into," says Vim user John Carter (not of Mars). "Since then it’s become a question of 'code speed.' If I start with a new IDE or even switch to something like Emacs, I’ll slow down. On an emotional and professional level, I can’t really afford that. It takes energy to pivot to a new editor. I don’t have that energy. I got the job, a family, and side projects. It seems silly but that kind of pivot takes energy.

> verisimilitude (or truthlikeness) is the notion that some propositions are closer to being true than other propositions. The problem of verisimilitude is the problem of articulating what it takes for one false theory to be closer to the truth than another false theory.
This problem was central to the philosophy of Karl Popper, largely because Popper was among the first to affirm that truth is the aim of scientific inquiry while acknowledging that most of the greatest scientific theories in the history of science are, strictly speaking, false. If this long string of purportedly false theories is to constitute progress with respect to the goal of truth, then it must be at least possible for one false theory to be closer to the truth than others
