look at the nordic countries where every single citizen's salary/income/taxes are public for all to see and nobody has a problem with that.
It should be automatic, not something some choose to do

Do I know someone from #centos @npub1smf…28q2 ? https://cloud.centos.org/centos/10-stream/x86_64/images/CentOS-Stream-GenericCloud-10-latest.x86_64.qcow2.SHA256SUM is a zero-length file. Is it a symlink that is dangling on the server?

I realized I may have, er, too many computers. I've decided to let my Framework 13 go. It runs any Linux like a charm, suspends, wakes up, just works.
- Intel Core Ultra 125H
- 1TB nvme with additional 1TB card
- 96GB of DDR5 ($$$$$)
- 2.8K 120Hz screen
- Mint condition
- DBrand skin on the back (easy to remove)
- Windows 11 license (in firmware tables)
I have a bunch of extension cards but I will most likely keep them.
Please repost for coverage. I'm located in Warsaw/Poland.

do you like glitchy mesa drivers? Run something that's not latest and focuses on stability and productivity.

I think you are fighting a losing game. You can get some things with the tweak tool, adjust sizing etc.
General themes are not worth the hassle.

in some regions, you can get framework b grade, which has great value. I have not seen anything like that in Europe thigh.

Lastly my 125H model is not as good as the latest and previous gen AMD. Perhaps reach out to other people for their data. I'm still very happy with it and despite pointing out the flaws, it's a great value of a machine.
Look at ebay, I got mine for a bit less than the new price. Someone didn't like it - it was brand new and apparently never opened prebuilt with windows.

I didn't do this sort of measurement but I always carry the power brick _and_ a huge 100W USB-PD battery. The framework, at least for me, wakes up in the backpack from time to time, which sucks and is "linux laptop experience" all over again. I didn't troubleshoot much as I know those things just never end. Maybe it's the flexible chassis that hits a key? Maybe the kernel of the day has a bug? Neither one can be prevented.
If you need to run Linux you need to pick your battles.

it's an interesting comparison: I have M2 max 16" with 96GB of RAM and 2TB nvme. A very strong machine by any standard. My 13" framework is a core ultra 1 125H with the same amount of ram and smaller nvme (1TB) - both aftermarket upgrades done at a very low cost (about $300 US maybe).
Both systems run Fedora to make the comparison interesting.
The M2 max is way faster, has less fan noise. It does not suspend well in Linux (drains battery fast overnight). Kernel page size is annoying.

I got one. I'm worried it will break (usb-c ports seem to die mysteriously, possibly depending on the model). I love it and if it breaks I'll just replace the failing parts. I have lots of other hardware to compare it with, apple, asus, lenovo.

You can now get #ImageGarden as a snap: https://snapcraft.io/image-garden
This should make it easier to get into full-system testing with spread without any complex local setup.
Version 0.2.2 is currently baking and should hit the stable channel soon. If you use give it a try please leave some feedback.
You can try it out with: https://gitlab.com/apparmor/apparmor/-/merge_requests/1588

thank you for responding! Do I understand your message correctly that under gnome on, say, Fedora 41, 100% zoom is readable for a person wearing eyeglasses?
I'm trying to decide between the 13" model with 2.8K screen and the 16" model. Any insight or FAQ link will greatly help.

Do I know anyone with the @npub15f7…m7wr 16” model? How does the screen work in Linux with regards to high-DPI settings? Is text readable at 100% zoom?

I just learned that after changing the GPU, one has to run "flatpak update" or things will misbehave at runtime. TiL

The craftsmanship of @npub1mjj…a2m6 hardware is amazing. If you get a chance to see it in person don't hesitate.
This desktop is so small, the images you may have seen online don't do it justice. If you are at the #UbuntuSummit drop by their booth and have a look.

I didn't take enough photos of interesting things being presented today but Ubuntu phone and #UBports has a special place in my heart. I was involved in the phone project and, together with the canonical certification team, shipped a complex testing app on this platform. It is amazing to see it alive and kicking in 2024 at the #UbuntuSummit.
