sorry, not intending to "correct" you, just saying that #copaganda often works by hiding the agency.
a classic is using "officer-involved shloting" to describe cops executing someone in a way that makes it sound like the cops were being fired at.
similarly, it is also a "violent protest" if cops go and beat everyone up, and it sounds like it's the protestors' fault.
one i've seeing recently is "suspect died by heart stop" without specifying what cops did to stop this persons heart. because #technically everyone dies by heart stop.

2026-10-27 20:59:11 UTC

- reply

if cops are there then it could technically be called a "violent protest" as that doesn't specify who's doing the violence.

2026-10-13 08:50:07 UTC

- reply

enig. næsten! men...
bedst at bruge en biologisk nedbrydelig kædeolie uden teflon, fx muc off.

i'm not surprised anymore.
#signal leaked my phone number, despite being set to hidden. this enabled cops to deanonymize and geolocate me by capturing the phone of someone who i never gave my phone number. great job for this app that is advertised to activist and journalists as "secure" and "private".
there are several of such number leak bugs and footgun settings:
https://github.com/signalapp/Signal-Android/issues/13824
https://github.com/signalapp/Signal-Android/issues/14222
https://www.jwz.org/blog/2017/03/signal-leaks-your-phone-number-to-everyone-in-your-contacts/
and if you have signal installed, anyone can monitor your device usage timings, even if you have no contact with them:
https://www.techradar.com/pro/security/three-billion-whatsapp-users-are-at-risk-an-expert-has-developed-a-tool-that-could-spy-on-everyone-and-you-would-never-know-about-it
also, only allowing one account makes it hard to separate different activities (family, business, activism) but makes it easier for adversaries to track users across multiple group chats.
worst of all is that because pretty much everyone now believe that "signal is safe," they'll insist that it's you who are using it wrong if you have an issue.
i think #deltachat has made more sensible decisions here by allowing multiple identities abs not demanding any private information, and also being decentralized instead of hosting it all on #amazon web services like #signal does.

»If, however, the Jewish army has the ability to subdue the enemy by means of starvation and dehydration, this would enable them to accomplish their military goals without risking Jewish lives. When that is the case, there is no obligation to pursue peace. [...] Should the enemy reject such peace offers, not only is it permitted to starve the population, but the Mitzvah of leaving the enemy a passage to flee also no longer applies, and thus the Jewish army may surround the locale on all sides.« https://thelehrhaus.com/timely-thoughts/the-starvation-of-gaza-a-halakhic-argument/

får det nogensomhelst journalistisk dækning i danmark? @npub15ud…4rmx

> So it doesn't make sense to say that Tor is blocked in China, because it mischaracterizes Tor as a static protocol. "Tor" when it comes to censorship circumvention is a toolbox of options — some of them work in China, some don't.
https://blog.torproject.org/how-read-our-china-usage-graphs/

https://da.wikipedia.org/wiki/Det_danske_b%C3%B8rnepornofilter

evgeny has tweeted a lot in support of infamous #nazi #TommyRobinson and far-right #nationalist party #reformUK as well as a lot of #climatechangedenial and extreme #transphobia.
i remember seeing some worse posts of his but #twitter is too #enshittified for search to work at all.

how israelis celebrate flag day:
"From before midday on Monday small groups of young Israeli men attacked and harassed shopkeepers and passersby inside [Jerusalem], spitting at women in hijabs, stealing from cafes, ransacking a bookshop and [...] chanted racist slogans including “Gaza is ours”, “death to the Arabs” and “may their villages burn”.

i think it is fine when you compare to animal rights activism, @npub1axq…rn59
what would you think if i invited you to this animal rights demo?:

sure, then they could write "please don't smash the cars during the protest" or "there will be cops because we told them about the protest".
to "oppose" the "violence" done towards a tesla is such car-brained nonsense.
even christian pacifists dedicated to non-violence go and smash fighter jets at BAE bases.
"The stakes couldn't be higher." but not high enough to put a sticker on a car, apparently?!
cops won't even need to show up when we are this good at policing ourselves into "peaceful assembly."

"We oppose violence, vandalism and destruction of property. This protest is a lawful exercise of our right to peaceful assembly."
☝️ this is the direct opposite of taking action.
#teslatakedown, how you gonna take tesla down if you oppose doing anything?
"lawful" just means siding with cops if anyone breaks the law. 🥱
