> Police confirmed they had responded to a report of "criminal mischief involving a robot" on the 1200 block of Filbert Street around 1:16 p.m. on Wednesday. A woman on the scene ignored "multiple commands" to move, they said, resulting in a criminal violation notice for disorderly conduct.

According to multiple sources briefed on the matter, the FBI did so to facilitate hiring in some cases, even if candidates acknowledged they engaged in sexually deviant activities or stole from an employer.

It's not stupid to do things that easy way when you know you won't get punished

Once the site of an internment camp for Japanese Americans during World War II, Camp East Montana is made up of six long tents at the Fort Bliss Army base outside of El Paso. On an average day, the facility holds around 3,000 detainees who are living in harsh conditions: They lack sufficient food and often go without proper medical care, according to AP’s review of 130 calls made to 911. Those calls took place in just about five months—from when the tents were quickly constructed in mid-August to January 20.
“Every day felt like a week. Every week felt like a month. Every month felt like a year,”Ramsingh said. He lived in Columbia, Missouri before being stopped at the airport by DHS and sent to Camp East Montana last year. Despite holding a green card and being married to a US citizen, he was deported to the Netherlands in February over a drug conviction from when he was a teenager (which he served prison time for). “Camp East Montana was 1,000% worse than a prison,” Ramsingh added.
Ramsingh said that the alledged bets on who would die by suicide were especially difficult because he had contemplated suicide himself.

The two options always seem to be:
* Option 1: Do the thing that expands the hyper-surveillance police state.
* Option 2: Do nothing and wait for the problem to get worse, until you're compelling to accept Option 1.

Most Bond villains are just eccentric billionaires using Sci-Fi technologies to become trillionaires through commodity speculation.
That's what Jaime Diamon and Warren Buffett have been doing for the last fifty years.
If you can't read that as "US are bad guys" that's on you, brother

Setting aside the fact that there's no appetite for these laws in liberal states because its purely a conservative fetish, you can still get porn on the internet without going to the big corporate online clearinghouses.
FFS, there was porn on Napster back in the day.

> soon we’ll have no states to vpn to
I've yet to see any state legislature take that proposal seriously. Unlike trying to make porn sites take your credit card info in advance (a policy they hated *so much* gosh darn it!) you're really fucking with the money when you try and regulate VPNs. Also, just... not really that practical. For the same reason Congress has been pretty toothless when it comes to regulating Torrents and digital encryption, going after VPNs at the regulatory level is something of a technological rabbit hole.

While millions will still vote for the Republican candidate, perhaps hating immigrants more than they love reproductive rights, the only certainty at this point is that many millions more will vote for Vice President Kamala Harris. In the latest ABC News/Ipsos national poll, the Democrat enjoyed a 14% advantage with women over Trump; among women with a college degree, that number rose to 23%; among women voters under 40, it rocketed to 34%.
...
That, in turn, is causing some MAGA commentators to break from their usual posture of feigned confidence to outright panic.
“Early vote has been disproportionately female,” Charlie Kirk, head of Turning Point USA and helping to lead the Trump campaign’s get-out-the-vote effort, posted on social media. “If men stay at home, Kamala is president. It’s that simple.”

As a lifelong independent and suburban citizen, I don't think I've ever lived in a suburb that wasn't flush with conservatives. Every major city in Texas is teaming with them. Staten Island in New York puts up some of the state's only GOP Congressmen. Virginia, California, Ohio... JD Vance is the picture of suburban conservative voter. And what is New Jersey if not a suburb of New York City? They run out the Chris Christie brand of politician on the reg?

Democrats - particularly in low-income and minority majority areas - tend to face enormous lines at voting booths on election day. Polling stations regularly [run out of ballots](https://apnews.com/article/mississippi-election-voting-problems-0eb722545983da2b8ad979d52c73aa72) or have [lots of broken and misconfigured machines](https://www.vice.com/en/article/heres-why-all-the-voting-machines-are-broken-and-the-lines-are-extremely-long/). Polling delays can lead to [legal drama around whether ballots will even be counted](https://www.click2houston.com/news/texas/2022/11/09/harris-county-voting-locations-will-stay-open-until-8-pm-an-extra-hour/)
Republicans, particularly those concentrated in the wealthy suburbs, rarely have these problems.
This tends to shape voter behavior over the long term.
