This is generally a moral question @nprofile…x32y about very wealthy people, not only bitcoiners of course. Accumulating wealth appears to be an end in itself, driven by the instant gratification of ephemeral material wants, more riches, more, always more. And what good they do with that? How much is enough? How many luxury cars is enough? How many houses? How many diamond colliers for your pet, without you becoming a rich egoist, egocentric, unempathic, insensible to human suffering and the basic needs of many people around you? I does not even cross their mind how many needing people could be helped if they forego the immediate satisfaction of yet another useless desire, such as a fourth luxury car or a diamond for their pet. This is sad.
For us #bitcoin is a life saver, because it allows us to conserve our savings to keep a decent but modest life style, while enabling us to give away some to help needing people. We just wish #bitcoin was worth 1million like @nprofile…mhjz predicates so that we could do the opposite of what he says: give away much more and help many more needing people.🇰🇪
@nprofile…mhjz you can start helping us by giving away a few of your many sats here to do some good 👇

If not mistaken I have heard him say something worse that he will prefer to burn them rather than giving them away so that value will accrue to the whole network. I have the opposite view: the higher the price of bitcoin goes the more we can use it to help needing people and do good. I wish #bitcoin was at 1million, so we could help a lot of people more.

He is stuck using the gogetfunding platform and an on-chain transaction rather than lightning because that is what gogetfunding does. Would be much better to post on #nostr the funding campaign and get btc over LTN but how many would send him funds on #nostr? Gogetfunding gives him some visibility.

We have used the Freedomia bitcoin NO KYC Credit Card. It works really well, easy to load up with #bitcoin and #monero. The best part it is NO KYC and very private. We recommend it.

Hi Chad, well frankly it does not really come up. The point being that I personally like monero and also have some, but here any developer who creates an app to convert local money into crypto and vice-versa concentrates on bitcoin for obvious reasons. Generally people here are not bitcoin or monero "literate" they do not really understand it until they see how it works. So here communities build circular economies based on bitcoin and nothing else and I think this is a good thing since in Africa the issue of privacy is not really perceived as in the west. Also consider that lightning is extremely private and no one spends directly bitcoin on-chain. So there is no practical need for the added privacy of Monero compared with the advantage given by network global scale, decentralization and capped supply. But I like Monero.👌 🇰🇪

Hey #nostr #bitcoin Simona here from @nprofile…9kyc Look in this video how easy and fast it is to send money from anywhere in the world to Kenya using bitcoin which gets automatically converted into local currency Ksh.
https://blossom.primal.net/63265c6515941d4eff997fa5c31457bdcb1af9a9240ea000456d0ba470cb9531.mp4
We use it to empower local people, small businesses, sending directly money to those who need it. It is fantastic for Charities and anyone who needs to send money directly P2P at minimal costs, without banks, credit cards, bank accounts. The receiver does not even need internet connection. It works with the M-Pesa mobile money network via sms. Only the sender needs an internet connection to send bitcoin via Lightning Wallet and Tando app. It takes only seconds and bitcoin reaches any mobile phone in Kenya via sms. Kenya is the ONLY country in the world where you can live ENTIRELY with bitcoin, no bank, no credit cards, no cash. What a revolution is Kenya and the whole of Africa. Bitcoin empowers Africa.
Jambo Jambo from Kenya.

Looks like the issue was using the tor browser. Which poses the question: do the relays somehow recognize tor browsers and somehow neutralize them so that one is forced not to use tor? Considering #nostr should be censorship resistant makes me think.🤔🤔🤔

Hello #nostr can pls someone help? We had issues on another #primal account with relays connections. In the settings tab the relays do not highlight green or red but remain grey. I have done "reset" relays a number of times but nothing happens. I have also lost some content/articles which I saved as a draft multiple times in the reads/articles only to discover that were not really saved and were lost. Also, when we scroll the Home/Latest feeds it does not update with new posts. What could be the problem? Will Zap who gives the solution. Thanks

Hey #nostr bitcoiners, Simona here.
The Sheldrick Wildlife Trust in Nairobi 🇰🇪 does wonderful work to help orphaned animals and reintegrate them into the wildlife in Kenya’s Parks.
I have personally adopted some of them and also gifted my husband (Andi) with an adoption of a baby elephant named "Kipekee".
The latest arrival in need of help is a young girl named “Alia”.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pY5BBqdSJAo
If anyone wants to help just get in touch with them and adopt one. Last time I checked, they DID NOT accept #bitcoin yet, but if you are serious in donating some, just drop me a private message and I will try contact them to teach them how to implement bitcoin and lightning payments via @nprofile…0vpk app so that you can donate them directly once they are set to accept sats. Any charity works better with #bitcoin.

Hello “desperate” Bitcoiners,
Simona here from @nprofile…9kyc . I bring good news from the part of the world where #Bitcoin is not a red candle—it’s infrastructure, is empowerment, is the difference between putting food on the table or starving. Here in 🇰🇪 Kenya it’s how people actually move money. Not theory. Not narratives. Money.
https://primal.net/e/naddr1qvzqqqr4gupzp70yk4lfxsrsqteka9u22a88a75p9menqv89chlhzg36ssp069w3qq3ky6t5vdhkjm3dd9ej6amfdehxjmn894mksetjv5kkjapdd4shgar9wfesjnc83m
But yes, tell us more about how it has “no purpose whatsoever,” Mr. Peter Schiff. Apparently:
• Instant settlement and finality = useless
• Permissionless access = pointless
• Fixed supply = irrelevant
Meanwhile, a centrally issued gold IOU from Tether is now “the future.”
Ah yes.
Gold… but you don’t hold it.
On a blockchain… someone else’s controls.
Issued and custodied by… someone you must trust.
Revolutionary.
Meanwhile, Bitcoin just sits there, slapped hard in the face. No CEO. No headquarters. No marketing department that can tell people the truth.
Just 16 years of uninterrupted uptime quietly eating the financial system from the edges.
Here’s the part Wall Streeters don’t understand: Bitcoin doesn’t care about your feelings.
It cares about incentives. And the incentives are obvious.
When money works better, faster, cheaper, and without permission—people adopt it.
Not because they read a whitepaper but because it solves a problem.
Price follows understanding. Understanding follows necessity. And necessity is everywhere.
So relax. Users are onboarding. Communities are building circular economies. The locals are stacking. The network is growing.
Price is noisy, but the adoption is quiet and relentless. And quiet things compound.
Bitcoin doesn’t need hype. It needs time. Tick tock.
Stack accordingly. 🚀

On the ground here in Kenya 🇰🇪 no one cares about the price. Everyone we have on-boarded onto @nprofile…0vpk and any #bitcoin #lightning wallet such as @nprofile…9ral being the easiest option for beginners (though we advice to move early to self custodial @nprofile…r4yc ) is unconcerned about bitcoin price. They want to learn how to get paid in bitcoin and how to instantly convert into local currency they spend immediately. Here the need is to feed everyday the family. The western meme "numbers go up" or the store of value property is not the primary driver of bitcoin adoption. Here lightning and #tando remove the friction of fiat. Tried to provide some capital to a small business by sending an unbanked/unbankable person some #dollar or #euro in #africa? Try, then you will understand the power of bitcoin that everyone in the rich west misses. Here bitcoin is empowerment for the weakest. It can really change Africa's future. Read this

Think sending #bitcoin sats to a Masai Warrior in the middle of the Savana is not possible? Wrong. We did it at a Masai Mara tent camp while he was collecting cash donations with his tin-box. I asked If I could send him #bitcoin. He looked at me perplexed but then I asked “What about M-Pesa?” He smiled and said “yes yes, asante sana” and gave me his mobile number. I then opened up my Tando Kenya app which generated a bitcoin lightning invoice to my Phoenix Wallet. And in seconds my sats were automatically converted by #Tando into Kenyan Shillings and credited to the Masai M-Pesa mobile wallet.
Amazing, #Kenya is truly THE N. 1 bitcoin country. It is THE only country in the world where you can use #bitcoin #lightning to send sats to anyone. I never use any form of money in Kenya other than #bitcoin.
Stay tuned for the explanation of how Tando and Lightning Wallets work together.
