The UK has at least three fascist-pointing political parties that start with "Re".
Reform UK (a limited company controlled largely by Farage) https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cvgdlv56y2wo
Restore Britain (Rupert Lowe).
Reclaim Party (Lawrence Fox) who have lost most of the elections they've stood in pretty comprehensively (and four Conservatives who signed up to their pledge all lost their seats at the 2024 General Election).

@nprofile…mkqf No. I think potential for corruption will depend on who is an MP. If you or I became an MP then we get a huge increase in income. People who would expect to earn more than MPs see it as a loss of income so more susceptible. A bunch of middle class people over the years have told me "you don't get the best people" if MP's salaries aren't high because they can only imagine the most well off people as "the best".

There is a very common middle class argument that MPs should be paid a lot because otherwise they will be corrupt. Did MPs get measurably less corrupt since 1990 to match their salaries going up in real terms?

In 1990 MP's salaries were £26,701 which is roughly £66,900 in 2026 prices.
