Went to the Campbell Oktoberfest on the last hot day of the year. It is held on E Campbell Ave by the Campbell Chamber of Commerce. About average-sized for these events and there is a light rail station at the event. Parking was reasonable. There was also a large beerhall that was completely packed with screaming(?) visitors. We did not stay very long at the fest as it was too hot and crowded.

Yesterday we went to the Los Gatos Art & Wine Festival, held by the Kiwanis at the town civic center. It is a smaller event, with maybe a hundred artist, but it leans heavily into entertainment and drink. This event is also among the last for the year, and with summer over it was getting windy and cool.

Yesterday we went to the 55th Annual Millbrae Art & Wine Festival. It was held on Broadway St by the Millbrae Chamber of Commerce. It was sunny but strong winds kept us cool. Pretty standard fare. My only complaint is Broadway is a fairly narrow street and crowds at some business were almost impassable. Lots of dogs.

This weekend was the Palo Alto Festival of the Arts. The event took place downtown on a long stretch of University Avenue. The width and alignment of University ensured that everyone spent some time in the sun. 🥵
This was a large art venue but oddly did not have much entertainment. Most similar events are anchored around a large concert and dancing area with a loud rock band. This one just had a small stage on a sidestreet playing folk music.

Why, in the year 2026, are there still door-to-doo salesmen? And why would AT&T, a communications company, still think this is a viable option? Just how many people are at home on a weekday morning in my neighborhood, with no means of communication to the outside world and are just waiting for somebody to knock on the door and set them free?
Also, if I say I’m not interested, talking faster is not a magic spell. However, it is a good way to make me close the door in your face.
