Mojeek is outside the EU. That's a non starter for an EU sovereignty movement, isn't it?
We don't have much to choose from, to me it looks like there's only Qwant and Ecosia

According to the article I linked they vent live with the joint venture last year. If they serve 50 % from their own index now, that's sound like a good start. Google wasn't built in three years either.
What do you think would have been the better way to do it?

They're developing their own search index together with Ecosia.

Mangrove forests are recovering! 🌳 👀
They 'store up to five times more carbon dioxide than land-based forests'
We at Mastodon.green has made a modest contribution to that by planting 37000 mangrove trees.

COP30 is nearly over now
Here's what they've almost agreed upon. With eight fairly heavy pages it's only for those especially interested in the topic.

Hedgehogs are scientifically counted with footprint tunnels.
It's essentially a little tunnel with a bit of food as bait. Inside the tunnel are two A4 papers and an area painted with home made "ink". It's cooking oil and charcoal.
Any animal walking through the tunnel leave behind charcoal footprints. These are from a hedgehog.

If the Moshidon app used to have translations and they stopped working, then it's a question for @npub1rx6…pdar. The server has translations enabled and they are working

On the the social web there are quite a few servers with income. Some servers are donation based, some have EU grants, some are subscription based, and some are hosted by for profit corporations.
We on Mastodon.green use 20 % of the income to plant trees.
In generalized terms what we're doing can be called turnover based climate action.

To fix the climate crisis we need systemic change
We should ask ourselves - which systems are within our reach to change? What can we do on a community level, here and now?
Well, one thing we can do is hosting Mastodon servers and plant trees. Here's how to use that for systemic change

Good news from the World Meteorological Organization.
"Long-term warming (averaged over decades) remains below 1.5 °C".
We can still make it - barely
