In this weeks bumper issue of the AI and Games Newsletter, I share my thoughts from playing the alpha demo of 'AI People' - a game by GoodAI that uses Large Language Models to build interactive non-player characters much like 'The Sims'.
Plus updates on the Goal State Kickstarter, GOTY 2024, plus AI in gaming news too!

We're now halfway to our first stretch goal for Goal State: a stack of video tutorials on implementing Game AI in the Unity engine.
After that, our next stretch goal is a deep dive analysis of the DOOM source code and how the AI systems within it actually work. Plus Unreal tutorials in the not too distant future as well!

NEW VIDEO!
I chat once again with Jeff Orkin, the AI programmer on FEAR, about his career after the release of the game. How it led him to grad school, building a game where AI behaviour was crowdsourced, and his new start-up BitPart AI.

What with all the excitement surrounding the AI and Games Conference, news on the upcoming Kickstarter for my online course series 'Goal State' has been a little quiet.
Today I published a breakdown of the syllabus of the 1st proposed course: Game AI 101, plus future courses I have planned.
