I like potatoes because you can basically do whatever the fuck you want with them and it usually turns out okay.
I.e. I stuck some curry paste in my mashed potatoes recently and sauteed some vaguely Asian vegetables to go on top of one of my steaks recently and it was phenomenal.

Even before AI was a thing, I've always wanted a personal computer assistant that I can speak to with natural language and it just does things for me. Whether it's inane bullshit like manage a calendar or To do in task management or whatever.
Also, while I'm thinking about Magical Fantasyland, one day a basic server rack for self-hosted appliances will be the norm and as common as a dishwasher.

Still need to sort out which of the two plants are going to press the best and then press two of the plants so I have good quality oil through the rest of the year.

Don't know the exact weight because I'm a stinker who never weighs my final take, but this is this year's take and this doesn't include all the jars that I have set aside from last year for pressing and bubble hash.

There are cheaper rings out there, for sure, and I always feel like I'm in a rock in a hard place when it comes to health data. All the good health data is locked behind subscriptions and other people's servers and all the open stuff is, unfortunately, inaccurate and not super helpful.
My current setup is an Amazfit 6 using GadgetBridge. You touch the ZephOS servers once to get your pairing key and then the rest of it lives on your phone, which to me is ideal, but the data is meh at best.
I used to use a whoop, but that is ridiculously expensive, yearly, and oura not only is the device smaller and easier to tolerate wearing all the time, (I already rock a couple of rings.) but it's also significantly cheaper at a yearly cost, so even if the upfront cost is kind of big, my stupid brain that likes to see numbers to help quantify things is seriously tempted to get one of the rings and pay the yearly subscription.

2026-10-26 16:25:48 UTC

- reply

Are those actually like good? I'm currently using an Amaze Fit 6 watch band but having to wear a watch all the time is mildly obnoxious and I know Gadget Bridge supports a couple of the rings.

Figure out the grapes you like and the regions its grown in. Its more important than the style of wine IMO as a grape your familiar with can taste completely different if it's grown in volcanic soil at elevation versus, whatever Californian soil is for example.
Unfortunately that takes a lot of trial and error, so if you have a local wine shop with a knowledgeable sommelier, go talk to them for a while. I learned a lot by listening to my snooty French co-worker.

You would be supprised the good wines you can find for around 20$ if you know what to look for. One of the things I leanred from working in a wine shop is price ≠ better wine. Ive had bottles of 30$ wine taste better than a 200$ bottle.

So I have this nervous habit of picking my beard when I'm stressed. It's kind of a terrible habit. And when I start doing that, I just kind of shave off my whole ass beard and regrow it. Because it only really takes a few weeks.
But my roommate pointed out to me that I look like a thumb when I shave, and now I can't look at myself in the mirror and until this regrows.
