Quasit

An old Victorian bibliophile and geeky kid in the same body. I've been on the Internet since the mid-'80s. I'm an old school tabletop roleplayer and GM. Grew up among the 0.001%. I hate capitalism and bullies. But I love cats!

Kolektiva censored me, so I'm no longer posting here. The same applies to my account on Beige.party. There are a lot of wanna-be authoritarians out there! My active account is @Quasit@vivaldi.social.net

They don't just have their fingers on the kill switch. They USE that kill switch ALL THE TIME.
And so do a lot of Mastodon admins and mods. It's annoying as hell.

I'm figuring on voting in person. Not that I expect it to make a BIG difference.
It's not as if the Democrats aren't fascists too, after all.

I can't help but wonder if voting early makes it easier for Trump et alia to steal the ballots!

I've created an account over on hear-me.social; I'm @npub185q…4eph there. I'll be posting my daily book recommendations there from now on, since it allows much larger posts than social.vivaldi.net (no offense). I plan to continue to post and respond to other posts here, though.
Since kolektiva.social and Beige.party have censored my posts I do not plan to post anything to those accounts any more. I'll respond to direct messages there, or to comments on my old posts that were made on those accounts–but that's it. For fresh stuff, please follow me on social.vivaldi.net and hear-me.social . Thanks!

Vitamin D (plus K2 for absorption) is SO important.
Nice to see your father! I miss mine.

Normally I get garlic from a local farm when I can. I'm thinking I'll get a couple of bulbs and plant some of the cloves!

I love to cook, but I don't use a lot of herbs in my cooking. Some basil and oregano, some parsley, garlic (does that count?)...black pepper, but I don't think I could grow that around here. And I don't use that much of it anyway.

Tomato garden update: all of the larger tomatoes (anything the size of a ping pong ball or bigger) basically has a large rotten spot at the bottom or a split. I guess that's calcium deprivation. The tiny tomatoes mostly came out fine, though.
Still, it would have been cheaper by far to just buy quality tomatoes at Costco. But since I have now spent the money to create the garden, I guess I'll use it next year. Not sure if I'll plant tomatoes, and if I do I definitely won't plant anything larger than a cherry tomato!

Hello!
This is my third Mastodon account. I created my first one on 9/11/2020, on kolektiva.social–the so-called "anarchist" instance. To my surprise, they turned out to be quite the authoritarians. I hate censorship, so I joined another instance years later. I hoped for more freedom of speech.
That second instance was Beige.party. They soon turned out to be censorship-happy, too.
So...third time's the charm? I hope. But I'll be duplicating ALL my future posts on my DreamWidth account.
I've been posting daily book recommendations for the past 170 days. You can find them at #QuasitBookRecs . I recommend a lot of old science fiction and fantasy as well as humor, children's, and YA books.
I also write about politics. I'm not doctrinaire, but I'm strongly anti-capitalist. I have no tolerance for anyone who supports genocide; that's personal for me. But I don't understand why it WOULDN'T be personal to anyone!
