My #PeerTube instance is now accepting new account requests.
If you are looking to make or are already making original #video content for the #Fediverse, that has artistic, educational, or entertaining intent to engage an audience, then come join us. We give all video creators 10GB's to start with and more added as needed.
(That may seem like it's not a lot but it is. I have 40 videos and I've only used 4.5GB's)
Request an account and tell us what kind of videos you make or want to make. We'll review it and let you know within 24hrs.

By the way, let me just say if anybody takes that post seriously, I would like to point out that Federated toaster ovens don’t actually exist. Like, how would they even?

2026-09-25 19:24:47 UTC

My dream is to once again hit 5k followers before the end of the year for no other reason than the fact that I like round numbers and because I want to use the Fedi clout points to buy the federated toaster oven at the Fedi merch store.
I hit the goal last year, but then a few months later I moved to a different instance and lost hundreds of followers.
Help me Fedi. You're my only hope.
(If you think that I'm worthy, please boost this post.)

It's going to be one of those days where I'm dragging my ass.
Oh well. 🤷‍♂️

I hope that today you find a little peace. Some time to unburden your heart and breathe.
I hope that today you experience calm, and the healing power of stillness.
I hope that today you allow the self to dissolve into kindness and compassion.
I hope for today.

Real conversation...
Girlfriend: "Do you know what I love about being in a relationship? Free back scratches."
Me: "That for sure is a perk."
GF: "Right? Back scratches are the best! What's something you enjoy about being in a relationship?"
Me: "I get to see your boobs."
GF: 😐
Me: "What!??! It scratches a different kind of itch."
GF: "You are so lucky that I love you."
Me: "You don't have to tell me that! I get to see boobs everyday!" 😃

Downloading videos and sharing them with your friends is wrong!
Can you imagine what would happen if for example you were to download all of the new Harry Potter series when it comes out and send each episode to all of your friends so they don't have to subscribe to the service that carries it denying anyone associated with it the earning that they would have received otherwise?
Wouldn't that just be wrong?
So whatever you do, DO NOT download all of the new Harry Potter series when it comes out and send each episode to all of your friends so they don't have to subscribe to the service that carries it denying anyone associated with it the earning that they would have received otherwise.
Because that would be bad. So please whatever you do....

I would suggest makertube.net. While I do have live streaming enabled on my instance, there’s no automatic copy made when you’re done, and you’re limited to 720p at 30fps and 3000kbps.
Livestreaming is expensive, and since we’re still a relatively new instance, we need to keep our costs low. That’s why I suggest a more established instance.

2026-08-29 16:52:26 UTC

This weekend do me a favor would you?
It's hot out there, and when the heat rises, peoples tolerance lowers. You can help with that by looking for opportunities to practice kindness.
Open a door for someone whose hands are full.
Hold an elevator for someone.
Give a deserved compliment.
Help someone who looks lost.
It doesn't have to be anything big. Looking for the opportunity to practice even the smallest kindness can help make this a better world for all of us to live in.
Practice kindness. Heal the world.

I need to create a Mastodon account for my PeerTube instance to help promote it and to have a point of contact as well.
It will be human and bot run. (Whenever someone posts a video it will be posted there automatically as well.)
Can anyone suggest a good instance for this?

They aren't even aware it's happening. It's just their reality.
A few years ago I realized (after months of meditation for the first time) that the reason I was constantly worried about the people I loved dying was because I had been stuck in that "fight or flight" nervous system. It wasn't until I learned to recognize my thoughts as thoughts (metacognition) and reset my nervous system to "rest and digest" mode that I was able to see how it was affecting me.
It was like taking a shower for the first time. All of the fear and suffering it caused me just disappeared and I was able to see things more clearly.
And that's why I have empathy for people like you describe. Just miserable people drudging through their lives, never seeing the world in joyous ways, or being able to create meaningful relationships.
It's just sad.
(sorry if I'm info dumping. It's a personal interest.)

Sure you can. You know all of those times you get disappointed because something didn't happen the way you wanted it to? Now imagine worrying about what might not/could happen 24/7. Imagine how miserable that would make you feel, constantly preparing to be disappointed.
I think people like that get trapped in their own fears and expectations. They don't recognize their own thoughts and the constant suffering just causes their nervous system and their thinking into a "fight or flight" response 24/7.
And the end up being THE WORST.
That's gotta suuuuuuck.

2026-07-27 18:27:46 UTC

People, I don't care what you use to gather your information, just do yourself and everyone else a favor and validate the results yourself. If someone or SOMETHING gives you information that you need without validating it, don't trust it until you do know 100% where it's coming from.
Links can be lies. Validate them by going to the source.

2026-07-27 01:14:28 UTC

2026-07-24 15:57:00 UTC

Damn it. Have to charge my headphones since my girlfriend is home everyday until she buys a car so that she can go into work twice a week.
I'm a big "don't pollute the space with noise" kind of person and I wear headphones as my GF works in the living room and I sit here shitposting 15 feet away.
When she goes in to work, I don't wear them and let them charge from my laptop.
So now I need to figure out a new distraction that doesn't involve sound for one hour.
HOW AM I EXPECTED TO LIVE?!?!?

2026-07-21 15:49:03 UTC

Sorry I haven't been around as much as usual. I know how much you all must be missing my shitposting and my encouragement.
As well as my encouragement to shitpost.
Been a little down the last week and I've spent a lot of my energy on my mental health, so I haven't been very inspired as of recent.
I'm sure I'll get back to the norm soon. Until then, I'm just taking care of myself.
I hope you all are doing well.

This is your reminder that the heart of the Fedi isn't one person. It's all the people who BOOST the posts they think are important.
There's no algorithm here to tell you which posts you should be paying attention to. That's YOUR JOB. So BOOST the things you love. BOOST the things you think are important. And BOOST the posts that make your heart laugh.
The Fediverse needs YOU to BOOST.

I'm always amazed at the people in my life who try to defend billionaires. And what's really sad is that NONE of them know how capitalism works. They think that someone can accumulate millions, without someone else being taken advantage of.
And when I try to explain it to them, they get this weird vibe as if they were defending their religion. They don't want to see it. They don't want to admit to it. They wont even entertain the idea.
It's disturbing sometimes.

2026-06-13 01:44:20 UTC

2026-05-29 16:03:18 UTC

Stop thinking that the Fediverse needs to compete with corporate owned social media.
It doesn't.
Mastodon isn't in competition with X or Threads. PeerTube isn't in competition with YouTube. PixelFed is not in competition with Instagram. Friendica is not in competition with Facebook.
The Fediverse serves a different function then all of the billionaire funded social medias. The Fedi isn't meant to create a revenue flow for investors. It isn't meant to turn you into a product where your privacy is stripped from you.
The Fediverse is meant to give the USER control. It's meant to protect the disenfranchised. Give power to the people. Be safe from profit exploitation.
The Fediverse and corporate social media couldn't be more different. Trying to put them in competition is like trying to compare a toilet to a flower. Sure you can shit and piss on a flower, but the toilet will always stink and the flower will continue to grow.
