The ntfy app logs show me the messages being received by the android app (along with a ton of stateful information which is great for debugging) and that the ntfy app is attempting to dispatch the notification to Fedilab. So far so good, but nothing yet in Fedilab.
Does Fedilab *require* Ignore Battery Optimizations and has to always run in the background to get these UP notifications, is that what's maybe wrong? How do you have yours configured?

"should" and "is" are... arguing. :) This is my first time, and I do see the server (I installed my own) "see" the message counter increase! The logs show an increase of +1 with your new reply (and it shows all 3 now as log lines). So my push server is getting an event.
Yet on my mobile (which is showing connected and monitoring the "topic") is not popping up an event notification. I've just enabled the "Record Logs" feature in the ntfy android app as a next debug step. Adventure!

Thanks.
Sadly, I never received a notification of your comment (everything shows connected and working) so not I'm not sure if this push notification stuff even works at all. :-/

Minor feedback, when selecting a Push Distributor in Fedilab, an internal app name is being displayed ("io.heckel.ntfy") which isn't what I was expecting (was expecting the human name, "ntfy").
It isn't a big deal, shop talk - these are super close for Ntfy. What if, though, Ntfy was internally com.example.MyTestApp? (I'm exaggerating of course); my user instincts say it should be the human friendly name being displayed in Fedilab.

- dev repeatedly pushes users to test upgrade
- user gives critical feedback about upgrade
- dev makes fun of user for feedback
...stay classy, F-Droid. You wonder why people don't help the project, here you go. And to think I donate, too... will have to rethink that and chat with my friends about it. Hmm.

At your urging I've upgraded to rc0 (tried both Basic and Full), I have two pain points:
- put the Repositories back in Settings where it belongs. That icon up top is confusing and out of place.
- add an option to disable the Hints. I'm completely annoyed that every screen on such a basic app has to stop and create a blocking modal to tell me what a filter is.
I like the older client UI/UX more.

thanks, did not know this trick.
One that I use to share - the comma. It can be used in a lot of places in a "from - to" mode.
mv file.txt{,md} == rename
mv file{.txt,} == strip
mv file{,.txt} == unstrip
...etc. Not a secret, useful in all sorts of work.

a technique I use which is simple and effective, but not sure if scales to your size. Just fail2ban and a honeypot of 404s.
Create an page somewhere only a scraper will find. Have that page link to a bunch of missing (404) local URLs. Don't make it obvious.
Configure fail2ban to read the access log for excessive 404s within a short period of time and the AI bot will block itself.
Ensure fail2ban has scaling block times configured (bantime.increment = true). Trap (404|444|403|400).
