There should be a "run prompt as admin" with I dunno, Win+Ctrl+R or something. Regular run prompt is kinda useless nowadays since you can mostly launch anything from the start menu

Some useful tricks:
Ctrl+Shift+Esc invokes Task Manager directly
Win+Ctrl+Shift+B reloads the graphics driver
Win+(number) opens the program pinned to the taskbar (so Win+1 for me is Vivaldi)
Shake a window to minimize all windows

“Having to use content warnings is annoying.” I used to feel that way, too, but you know what? I fucking got over it. Yeah, if you get it wrong, people are going to yell at you. And you learn. That’s the way life fucking works. But listen: it turns out that content warnings are fucking great. I see a bunch of posts that say “us pol” or “transphobia” or whatever, I get to decide if I have enough spoons for that right then, and take a pass if I don’t. I fucking wish Bluesky had that."
Oh for the fucking love of god, DON'T. Please don't use the CW tag as a subject field. That's not the point. It's fine and welcome if you CW NSFW (you should), controversial opinions, pictures that can be scary, sure. But don't overuse it. You should not use it on every post. You should, however, write what's it about, so people can hide it if they don't want to see it.

Okay, but don't use Mastodon. Use *literally anything else* on the fediverse. Glitch-soc, Akkoma, Pleroma, Misskey, Sharkey, GotoSocial, Friendica, Firefish, Iceshrimp, Wafrn, whatever, just not fucking vanilla Mastodon. It's missing some features that I consider essential on other platforms (emoji reactions, more than 4 images per post, advanced markdown) and instead focuses on weird stuff nobody has asked for (like making their own quote-boost system instead of using Misskey's, which had been in use for literal years).
Join the fediverse. We're cool and limitless, and you can make your own independent instance that only you controls.
