💵 Many of our lowest-paid members will receive an immediate raise, followed by a 4.5% pay increase in 2027. All members are guaranteed a minimum general wage increase each year that averages above 3%. This deal will also help correct regional pay disparities.
💵 A $75,000 salary minimum, up from about $62,000 when we formed our union in 2023.

🚨WE HAVE A DEAL! After three years, in a major step forward for our members, we have ratified our first contract with @nprofile…wmhr’s management. We deeply appreciate everyone who supported us along the way.
Here are some of our big wins👇

“ProPublica is … a shining light in a very troubled journalism industry,” says reporter Anna Barry-Jester, but “management is refusing to agree to basic layoff protections.”

“I have heard from our managers at ProPublica that they don’t intend to replace us with AI. And that’s great. But we’re gonna need that in writing.”
This is why we’re fighting for protections against artificial intelligence:

It’s been three years since we formed our union. We still don’t have a contract.
Over the next few weeks, you’ll be hearing from us — the workers of @nprofile…wmhr — on why this contract is so important and the issues about which we care deeply.

2/ More than 90% of our unit voted to authorize the strike — and it made waves. Numerous media outlets covered our picket lines in D.C., Chicago, NYC and across the country.

1/ Happy International Workers' Day to all our fellow workers and unions! ✊
ICYMI, our bargaining unit exercised our collective power to walk out on a one-day strike last month, as we fight for a fair contract.

1/ Today, we filed an unfair labor practice charge with the National Labor Relations Board over @nprofile…wmhr management’s unilateral implementation of an AI policy without first bargaining with our union. Of note, the policy provides no job protections to our members.

1/ At bargaining yesterday, @nprofile…k02x management said that they should have 100% discretion to replace workers with AI and would not commit to labeling future AI-generated content.
