in olden times, people didn't expect their every move to be immortalized on camera.

What's really difficult about talking to conservative folks is that the do not see solidarity as an option. Like they are so independtly minded that they do not think that they live in a society.

This is excellent and I have something that I am testing, I am very happy with it.
The bottom is a django template, so I only need to write this for the image_gallery and then anywhere that's used those patterns load.
It is working as expected.
Thank you.

Im looking for a design pattern to make an image gallery without any javascript.
the gallery should support "n" number of images, and offer a modal on click.
Boosts and recs welcomed.

I'd need to know more about how it's deployed. If it's only static and not on a compute, i.e. on github and served through cloud flare or similar you'll need to add a compute function to do such, i.e. you'll need something dedicated to handle mentions.

2026-04-29 14:20:21 UTC

- reply

I understand that. Let me look at it and I'll see if I can offer any advice. One other Q, are you hosting the site with compute, or purely static?

Many, many years ago, I bought this iMac.
Dropped a ridiculous amount of money on it too—because hey, why not “future-proof” my life?
It’s got 32GB of RAM
A small supercomputer.
And yet Apple took one look at it and said,
“Adorable. Anyway, we don’t support that fossil anymore.”
Pretty soon I couldn’t even run GarageBand or Pages.
Because, you know… innovation.
So I rolled up my sleeves, installed Debian,
and—surprise!—the hardware runs perfectly fine.

If I had a large list of users from other instances I wanted to follow, what's the easiest way to do that? Presently everything is in the format of domain/@user But that means I have to click the link, then sign in to this instance then add to a list and that feels like an exceptionally cumbersome method.
I understand there is no bulk add to a list and that users have to follow to be added to a list, but I want to follow them all and add them all to a list.

Capitalism *intentionally* eradicated common lands that were once shared by communities for fulfilling their basic needs, including
shelter and housing, have been deliberately eliminated in favor of private profit-making opportunities. This transformation has resulted in a system where meeting human requirements like shelter and housing is reduced to
generating profits for capitalists.
The very foundation of this economic system rests upon enforced
homelessness, as it serves as a coercive mechanism to compel people to
sell their labor and bodies to these capitalists in order to survive. The
lack of affordable housing and the rising cost of living has become a
significant challenge for many individuals and families worldwide, forcing
them into situations where they have no choice but to work under
exploitative conditions to make ends meet.
