@nprofile…m7l3 It could be partly that the sound is different. Humans are like "gronfle smack gronfle" and cats do a little "am am am".

A different kind of #mosstodon post. I haven't opened my terrarium in well over a year. It definitely needs pruning and probably relocating to somewhere with more light (like, Spain?) It seems to be doing well though, no algae build up or bug infestation that I can see. Not bad for my first terrarium.

I think some of the replies to this poll are missing the historical importance of wobbly windows and the technological advancements in the open source ecosystem that they represented. I feel privileged and grateful to have been present at the dawning of the wobbly window era.

Are there any open source tools for audio noise generation (the kind of noise some people like to fall asleep/study/work to)? I couldn't find any when I searched but it seems like the kind of thing there would be an open source project for.
(And yes I'm sure I could pipe /dev/random into my audio sink but that's not exactly configurable.)

Uh oh people in my feed are talking about filesystems again.
Opinions on filesystems generally fall into 3 categories:
1. I lost data to a bug years ago therefore the filesystem is forever broken and unusable.
2. The filesystem doesn't have <feature> therefore it is broken and unusable.
3. Eh I guess it works? I never think about it.
(Opinion 3 being the ideal goal.)

@npub1ulm…hweg I agree it's a huge problem here, I see it daily. I don't know if there are any quick and easy solutions though, it seems like a tricky human/cultural problem. Maybe an awareness campaign and a warning or posting guidelines added to the reply text box would help a little. After that maybe admins could add it to their server rules so that it's a reportable offense.
