Casinos have operated like this for years. People who loose lots of money get flown to VIP events with free hotel, meals, concerts, and even mix with movie stars. People are employed as concierge to these gamblers, so it's not MGM calling and encouraging you to gamble, it's Beth or Stephen.
Gambling is just theft with extra steps. I'd ban all of it, including the lottery.

If you read the article, this is a very specific legal question. And honestly, it's too gross to contemplate, and having a strong opinion about this on the internet is rightly suspicious.
The good news is the criminal in this case didn't just posess CSAM, and no matter how this shakes out, they going to jail.

This mayor is a fool for thinking his flag-staffs are important. Getting outraged over this makes the same mistake.

It's unenforceable on Linux. A Linux user can simply remove or modify any code running on their machine. Fedora, Debian, and Arch can't make a user verify their age any more than they can force you to use Gnome. It's kinda the whole point of FOSS.

There is a big difference between a "weed guy" and a drug dealer.
Show me a person who has 3 different kinds of weed, cocaine, LSD, and pills and I'll show you a scary person.

I got a lot of badges when I was a scout. Didn't have to use my penis for any of them.

The aircraft carrier is about power projection. Kinda weird for a "defensive" force to want some.
