The local Moore Wilsonʼs has a roguesʼ gallery, three A4s headlined 'Shoplifter'. I donʼt condone theft but surely these arenʼt legal and reflect more poorly on the shop? Privacy, the right to a trial, the possibility the shop got it wrong—unless, of course, these are post-trial and they each have been judged guilty?

Remember how open source was something I pitched for our city (indeed, our region, as Mayors Guppy and Wallace agreed; Leggett did not) during the 2013 mayoral campaign? Go back to 2013 and I was critical of Big Tech even then. European states and governments have been figuring this out over the last year. Here, I think we're too beholden to foreign corporations to have any courage. Could have led the world but, then as now, we have too many cowards in positions of power.

I admit I have been testing some of these “AI” things people are going on about just so I know what our clients are talking about. It must be pretty easy to make them. With Meta, the program appears to be: fail at maths and shit itself, then output endless spinning wheels. Not sure how this cost milliards of dollars, but then what do I know about prices in Trumpistan these days? (Their economy is stronger than ours, after all. Then again so are Costa Rica’s and Greece’s.)

@nprofile…t3ug It was his break-out role—he played a bit of a hoodlum (you can see why he was cast in Layer Cake). Casino Royale was on tonight on telly—probably Dan’s best Bond. Funny story: when Daniel was in Dunedin filming Sylvia, Otago Poly students did the hair. The head teacher could have worked on his hair but she declined since he wasn’t much of a looker and wasn’t that famous, so he was given to a student. Did she regret that after he became James Bond!

Each time we returned to edit the profile, Meta had switched it off. Just like Facebook, they want the bots, and they want you fooled.

Anyone know what this #Google thing is? We do not work with Google so how are they injecting their code into our site? It’s not from us.

One thing I do like about US English is they distinguish between series and season. Helps in TV discussions. 'Go figure. You do the math.'
