I guess the official title of Disney's next Star Wars project is "The Star Wars Mandalorian and Grogu".

The high-res cockpits made for the TIE Fighter DOS CD are notably different from the original low-res versions. Perhaps most striking is how they redid all the damaged versions of the cockpit dials!

More fun with pixel editing: what if Sierra had kept Dracula's dining room in King's Quest 2 puke green like on the box screenshots?
(And yes, I gave my fake screenshot the GUI from the original PC booter version.)

@nprofile…9u6v @nprofile…f5kq I have seen multiple Twitch streamers give up on this game partway through because it is just so painful.

@nprofile…f5kq @nprofile…9u6v It's perhaps Sierra's worst-designed adventure game, combined with a terrible submarine simulator. I cannot recommend it unless you enjoy pain.

You know what Lucasfilm ought to do to celebrate the 45th anniversary of Empire Strikes Back? Release the original theatrical cut in high quality on modern digital media platforms.
But that'll never happen, sadly. Damn you, George Lucas.

Here's an Indy Last Crusade FM Towns vs. DOS VGA difference I didn't know about:
Turn off the lights in the gym on FM Towns and the whole screen goes black, with gray silhouettes for Indy and the boxing coach - which is what the EGA (and Mac) versions do as well. (The boxing coach's dialogue changing color is also EGA behavior.)
But then in the DOS VGA version they did this fancy palette change instead.

Checked on a bug report I filed with ScummVM a while back about errors in the font drop shadows in the TurboGrafx-16 version of LOOM.
Turns out it's been 12 months and it's still open, and in all that time nobody else has even commented on it. :P

Other differences in LOOM EGA version 1.0 include slightly different text under the Lucasfilm Games logo, and a stray image in the GUI to denote the exit from the mountain spiral staircase leading back into the dragon's cave which was deleted in later builds.

A 1975 concept drawing for the original Star Wars by Ralph McQuarrie (image 1), showing Princess Leia being menaced by a torture droid in an Imperial prison cell.
Notice in the closeup (image 2) that Leia's left breast has fallen out of her shirt.
JW Rinzler used this image as the frontispiece of his 2010 book The Making of The Empire Strikes Back. I imagine he was quite amused to have Leia's wardrobe malfunction hiding in plain sight.

Turns out Laura Bow 2 has some absolutely wild differences in the background art between the floppy & CD versions, on part with Space Quest 4 in some screens.
Almost all screens have at least some minor palette reduction on CD, but sometimes the changes are quite drastic.

Two real-life features of the Vatican that you won't see in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle: the Ridiculously Long Corridor of Maps, and the Enormous Bronze Pinecone.

I'm probably the only person who will be bothered by this since I'm an architecture nerd, but it bugs me that the Vatican's Belvedere Courtyard in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle incorrectly has Ionic column pilasters beneath a Doric entablature (the upper bit with the triglyphs).
The real Belvedere Courtyard has Doric columns on the ground floor and Ionic columns above them.

The original Prince of Persia had a visual makeover for the PC-98 version in Japan: it was given a polish with high-res EGA graphics (and an extra final boss fight!) by Japan's Arsys Software.
Apparently this is where Jordan Mechner took the Prince's POP2 outfit from!
