@nprofile…sr9k Thank you very much. I don’t need an account right now, maybe later (no time to test).
Also I’ve found out the FreeBSD port/pkg is stuck few versions in the past :/

@nprofile…sr9k thanks! I'm considering running my own snac instance because it looks like it's a no brainer server-side. I'll have to test properly to see if I miss some mastodon features then.

@nprofile…sr9k so you run both mastodon and snac? I thought both would deliver the same service. What is you motivation for running both?

Hey #FreeBSD lovers, would one of those USB-A to #Toslink adapter work on 14.x-RELEASE?
I’m considering using my #Navidrome server as a jukebox but my FreeBSD box does not have toslink output.

@nprofile…ndh3 I run a Linux VM (bhyve) on top of FreeBSD. The VM runs Pi-hole.

Yesterday I’ve replaced my ISP’s issued «Fiber modem» (Freebox Mini 4K) with a dumb converter (TP-Link MC220L).
Electric consumption was 15W, it’s now 1.3W (and fanless!)
In the process I’ve lost access to «phone landline over internet» (used twice a year at best), and TV service (not used at all).
IPv4 works great as usual (+950mbps down / +680mbps up).
IPv6 is broken, I can’t figure out yet how to revive the 6rd config, you can help here: https://forums.freebsd.org/threads/replaced-the-isp-fiber-modem-with-tp-link-mc220l-no-more-ipv6.96304/ :)

Hi #BSD users!
I’m looking for people who have installed #FreeBSD on AMD Ryzen 7 7840U.
How does it work for you? (performance, temperature management, GPU…)
Please #boost for reach :)

- HA
Merci :)

Back in May 2015 I has super elated to create a brand new #photography #portfolio with #Koken, an amazing php web app, powerful, elegant, modern. In September 2015 Koken devs sold their app to a company and about a year later the company gave up on the product.
I managed to keep mine alive, but the difficult php migration from 7 to 8 and a 0-day security vulnerability in Koken (with RCE), were a strong signal.
Eventually, in December 2023, after few months looking for an alternative,

@npub1qw7…q0ue You made your test with the veeam agent inside the VM or with the veeam server talking directly with the hypervisor?

@npub1t7d…pqpp «Linux is everywhere now, and that it's necessary to use it for this type of system too» with this kind of reasoning I’m surprised he choose Linux over Windows. :)

Nice test from @npub1t7d…pqpp : https://it-notes.dragas.net/2024/06/10/proxmox-vs-freebsd-which-virtualization-host-performs-better/
I would love to see a progressive benchmark too, where VM are started until congestion starts on the host. :)
