@nprofile…3ftj with Etnaviv having a ton of progress thanks to @nprofile…6j0m amazing work lately, are there plans to backport all that into crimson or is the crimson mostly on freeze related to mesa so the #Librem5 wont have access to it other than on PMOS or on the next PureOS release?

Second attempt at hunting down a usable #Fairphone5 was a success. Was able to update/call/reset/unlock bootloaders all successfully! Got it all working with #UbuntuTouch too so i can test with it first and then swap to #Postmarketos to test with that. Will eventually get a review up on both UT and PMOS with it but that is behind the #Librem5 crimson review i still need to work through and then will probably hold out til 26.04 UT is out.

Processing on the L5 is pretty quick too, crazy how fast it is compared to the original postprocess from the PP times.
@nprofile…3ftj killed it with his last pass through. All of this was point and click with nothing done externally or requiring any fiddling with a stock crimson install.

Just got back from carlsbad caverns. While out an about i figured i would take my #Librem5 and take some pictures to compare to my #FLX1. Tested with latest millipixels on crimson for the L5 and furicam on FLX1. L5 was actually way better than expected, it was a bit hard to get it to focus correctly and the cam preview does not do it justice since the magic happens in post but its good!

@nprofile…3ftj @nprofile…mq6z this is great to hear. Gonna take my L5 on crimson for a spin too once it’s out of beta.

I've gone through and finally wrote up my review on the #furilabs #FLX1s and shared my thoughts about it. Just in time for it to be sold out and for the #FLX1s+ to take its place lol. Luckily most of it should still apply except for some of the QA issues and the camera since everything else is still the same. Let me know what you guys think! The phone is really starting to shape up well with some good news coming up in the next update.

@nprofile…3ftj This is amazing to hear, looking at the repo it also looks like you added gl processing so it sounds like it should be pretty fast too! Cant wait to give it a try soon.

Was going through some of the #fosdem talks and noticed one on something called #JMAP maintained by #fastmail mainly for managing/syncing contacts and calendars. Is there anything in terms of self hosting a server yet that i can then develop something that will connect to it? I see someone made a nextcloud proxy but i dont really want to spin up a massive nextcloud server just for contacts/calendar. Id like to use it for #mobilelinux so hopefully gnome/kde support it upstream at some point.

Not sure if any of the #mobilelinux people have seen it but looks like theres a new mobile linux distro out there with a new custom UI built on QT6 inspired by the blackberry days. It seems like a nice UI design, quickly ran on my PT2. Its immutable and looks like its enabling PREEMPT_RT to reduce latency in the UX. So far it looks like its only been tested on a #OnePlus6 but hopefully theres more and hopefully its shell makes it up to #postmarketos directly

Just heard about the #pinephonepro being discontinued due to terrible sales. That's sad to see considering it was one of the few linux first mobile devices. I can kinda understand though given its mid performance, low battery life and relatively high price. I was recently going through it and generating a review for it, ill still finish it so people can see what its like now a days. Hopefully we get more up to day linux first devices in the future that dont cost a fortune.

Updated @nprofile…qqu4 #FLX1 review is now up! https://blog.luigi311.com/furilabs-flx1 Let me know what you guys think and if it covered everything you guys would be interested in. Added in some more battery numbers and simplified some charts. Looking forward to the future progress on the FLX1 and its sister device!

Working through updating the #FLX1 review i wrote up a while ago and my god hopefully future phones I test both do and dont have similar battery life. I want to have full battery life numbers instead of just estimations so from 100% to the phone is off. Standby test without a sim and wifi on the entire time has been going 164 hours and still has another 16% to go. No deep sleep. Luckily the last battery test i need. Im also updating the review structure a bit to show more info.

For my #mobilelinux peeps here are instructions on setting up widevine L3 so you can atleast access some DRM content. I have tested this on the furilabs #FLX1 and #pinephonepro and they both now have widevine support. Biggest thing for me is spotify web pwa, some people can use it to view 480p atleast on netflix assuming you set the UA correctly. This should work on all #ARM based device as it is software based. Thanks #AsahiLinux for creating the script

Initial release of the #immich upload daemon is ready for people to use and report the tons of issues it probably has lol. You can find it here https://github.com/luigi311/immich_upload_daemon Feel free to open any issues/PR. Its still missing the charging only option but the networking features are there so you can set wifi only and/or SSID checking and you can even just check for metered connections. Mostly developed on my and for my #FLX1 via remote vscode.

@nprofile…amc4 Incase anyones wondering I gave this a shot with rockwork for my #pebble and its working. Lets me use my pebble while i wait for the amazfish support. Notifications dont work due to how UT handles notifications but getting stats is at least pretty useful! Need to see what other UT apps i can try.

Since #immich still has a lot of time before we get a usable #mobilelinux client that would help us backup our images easily. I am working on a daemon that will upload images automatically. What features would you be interested in?
Current ideas so far
1. Wifi only
2. SSID checking
3. Charging only
4. Systemd service for autostart and logging
5. Specifying paths

didn't realize that @nprofile…hade posted the modem they are going to use. Is anyone on #linuxmobile familiar with the Snapdragon X62 and how well its supported on mainline? Looking at the specs its really new and modern so performance and efficiency should hopefully be amazing. That of course does depend on if power saving modes can even be activated. What are everyone's thoughts/experience on it? Also wonder if its hooked up via usb similar to #librem5

I have created a discussion on their github to see what they think about it. Hopefully they are open to the idea since flutter seems to support linux

I wanted to document more of what the experience is like using a #mobilelinux device. What exactly are you guys interested in seeing. I have an initial version for the #pinephone so let me know if you want more things added. I will be adding in more of my devices like the #pinephonepro #librem5 #pinetab 2+V and the #furilabs flx1 when that arrives.

What a great time for the #pinephonepro camera system. Imx258 driver is getting a major upgrade and megi just dropped the most important commit related to it this morning. Fixed the suspend issue so now the rear camera works after you suspend!!!!

Finally back from Japan and looks like my #pinephonepro imx258 driver patch series had some discussion around dropping unneeded patches so v6 has now been submitted! Sakari mentioned some more rework might be needed on a few but looks like a lot of the patches are in good shape so hopefully we are a lot closer to better drivers for all!
