Just pushed a new iPhanpy version for app review. It’d been a while!
My Apple developer certificate expires next month and I’m a bit tight on money so I’ll probably go a few months without updating it again 😬

Cool Link: Visual design rules you can safely follow every time
by Anthony Hobday
As a non-designer that sometimes designs stuff, this is fantastic! A compilation of easy to understand rules you can follow in web design without having to worry too much about context.
Some of them I had already learned elsewhere, but it’s nice to have them all laid out together like this.

Cool Link: Why Socialism?
by Albert Einstein
Never thought I’d be linking to Einstein here, but this is a great essay about what constitutes humankind and society, how they differ, and how they mold each other (though this relationship is far from balanced).
> The individual is able to think, feel, strive, and work by himself; but he depends so much upon society—in his physical, intellectual, and emotional existence—that it is impossible to think of him, or to understand him, outside the framework of society.
Still a great read even if “socialism” is a trigger word for you, by the way.

iPhanpy is now available on the App Store too!
I wrote a blog post detailing what it is and why you might like it.

And if you want to just go ahead and download it, here's the App Store link: https://apps.apple.com/app/iphanpy-for-mastodon/id6755365082

If you like @nprofile…j4hq and use an iPhone or iPad, I’ve built an iOS version of it that can be installed via TestFlight right now!
It’s still the same Phanpy, but without the limitations and annoyances that PWAs have on iOS.
It runs smoother, stays longer in memory, and has a neat Liquid Glass icon!
If you want to try it out, let me know and I can send you a TestFlight link (I’m not 100% sure if making the link public is a good idea).

You know what's cool? The web!
I just wired up a page on my site for posting the photos I'm the most proud of. Wired it up to my RSS feed as well. Next step: a unified feed for all post types on my site!

@nprofile…79ya I **think** the Mac app has been crashing multiple times a day while its window is closed. Started noticing it since the last update. It never crashes when I’m using it, I just noticed the app is fully closed if I leave its window closed for like an hour or more.

@nprofile…spxs i don’t think people trust them to write good, well-tested software anymore though.
My Mac is so buggy even when receiving minor updates, there’s no way I can expect a supposedly major update to be a good idea in a yearly schedule

@nprofile…spxs I think the only minor annoyance is the copy text function not working in Safari, which I know you’re aware of.
I know Safari is a pain in the butt to support so I understand you may have tried other approaches to make it work though 😅
