I think I heard that those stats are skewed by AI crawlers running on Linux/identifying as Linux browsers or something.
No idea if true, would be great if the 10% market share was actually true.
People who switch from Windows to Ubuntu because they're fed up with AI nonsense will have a great time with Ubuntu's plans of integrating AI all over the OS -_-

The article is debunking the idea that an attacker would use AI to individually hack a million systems?
Why would anyone do that anyway?
Isn't the more interesting question if using AI to find a couple of 0-days in common software makes worms feasible again?

Sure, but look at the whole ecosystem. all the hardware vendors that currently ship devices with windows preinstalled, or peripherals that target mainly windows, all the Windows-only software.
Would all that suddenly start targeting (and/or preinstalling) Linux/SteamOS?
Or will many just stop targeting endusers, or only in the form of nailed-down Android devices or similar?

If you're ok with a slightly bigger form factor (like Mini ITX) you can get better (and more upgradable) hardware for the same price.

One extremely annoying footgun is SDL_ThreadID - in SDL2 that was a function (that's now SDL_GetCurrentThreadID()), in SDL3 it's a type (formerly SDL_threadID with lowercase 't').
In C++ SDL_ThreadID() compiles fine with SDL3, it just assumes a standard constructor or something, which doesn't really have a meaning for the underlying int-type but isn't an error either.
if(mainThreadID == SDL_ThreadID())
{ printf("in main thread\n"); }
or similar isn't exactly uncommon 🙃

I get that returning error codes from functions is useful, and that 0 as "no error" makes sense because there is only one "no error" case and potentially multiple different error cases.
But reading code like
if (!some_fun()) { ... }
with a meaning of "if some_fun() succeeded" will always interrupt my flow of reading the code, and sometimes actively confuse me.
Same for strcmp() and friends, of course.
just use `if (some_fun() == 0)`, FFS

I think this is really great these days - 4M elements is enough for everyone most of the time, but it's great to have the 64bit address space so you can have multiple things (or bigger things) with potentially that many elements, and you can just mmap() files without worrying about running out of address space
