Who knew reading g an LA Times article on their website required a legally binding contractual obligation. They are trying to kill the Internet using the legal system.

Cindy's not joking, this was more or less a film stunt made for the benefit of marketing the normal non-jumping, non-flying cars like I dunno,... 🤔 maybe the CyberTruck? Which sales prove was and IS still an effing disaster in automotive history, a bigger fail than the Ford Edsel?

Again, this is so self-unaware one cannot plumb the depths of shortsighted decisions being made at every stage of the AI bubble era. From the mass layoffs, to tying KPI and job evaluation to use of AI, and now to this bullshit. Bandwidth shaping and use throttling, like we were bittorrenting at our employers expense. I am done. <final line in the movie There will be blood>

I will say I have noticed a trend in our Gen.Chem instruction where estimating likely paths of a reaction based on the bond energy Kpa (I think?), is radically different from how I was taught back in 1987. There does seem to be some attempt to consider Thermodynamics driving reactions these days.

It's always interesting to note customs like SAT and PSAT. When I took them where I grew up, they did it on a Saturday because.the cafeteria needed to be monopolize and quiet the whole morning. iirc
At.least that's why I think they did it on Saturday.

@nprofile…zpa3 I also have seen folks use big/tall orange traffic cones for tear gas canisters. Put the canister under a cone and let it vent, and point the blower at the little volcano hole at the top. It's amazingly EFECTIVE.

@nprofile…d7zw Iirc there might also be a "bomb" crucible you can place an oxidizing agent and the substance you're trying to measure, along with a nichrome wire igniter. There's should also be a motor that hooks up to the rod to slowly spin it to distribute heat uniformly through the liter of water bath.

@nprofile…d7zw @nprofile…td24 This may not help, but my recollection of the plumbing fitting was always water really shot out of that narrow end, like a jet stream HARD. The other part is the fitting on the venturi needs to be tight as well. I don't know if it was luck, but H.S. lab and college labs always had a usable vacuum experience when required. There may not be much to troubleshoot if it's not pulling hard enough.

@nprofile…2k3v The two big commercial packages I'm familiar with always seemed like an adaptation of TeX (type-setting software) with later MIDI grafted onto the typesetting function to render the scores for large arrangements. (ie Finale and Sibelius). And the prices OMG, the license costs through the roof even these days.

@nprofile…d7zw I don't know if it's intentional. But whenever I see that light blue colored pencil, I'm reminded of my old days working with copy cameras, and graphic arts film, and the ever present "photo-blue" pencil that allowed a Head Designer to mark stuff up and not worry about it being "copied" by the graphic arts camera. But that was a LONG time ago.

@nprofile…taps Arthur Laffer, the Laffer Curve it's all a big LIE sold to you by politicians that set tax policies on everything Capital Gains, income over a certain threshold, all of it. Just like Big Tobacco, Big Tax-cuts lobbied to get these rules changed and told everyone, the "wealth will trickle down,..."
and it hasn't. It's been sequestered into every loophole, and financial machination known to man, and turned into "generational wealth". There is **no** trickle down.
