GURU requirements can be dumb if you are only updating a package. The two below checkboxes directly violate the requirement since they don't apply at all.
- [ ] I have included the build logs for all the packages I'm adding or modifying.
- [ ] All e-mail addresses added to `metadata.xml` correspond to valid [Gentoo Bugzilla](https://bugs.gentoo.org/), and I will be reading the bug mail send to them, or none were added.
Please note that all boxes must be checked for the pull request to be merged.
1. Build logs are almost useless in this case, the changed/added ebuild should be tested before merging by a developer anyway
2. Why would I change metadata when I'm updating the package for the maintainer...

20+ years ago we had perfectly usable WYSIWYG GUI designers integrated into a good IDE (Delphi) and in the last decade and more, everyone downgraded to building UIs with piles of slow JS libraries and no good IDE integration to make CSS GUI design less annoying. The only remnants of that better era are QtDesigner and Lazarus.

I think we should start embedding mandatory DRM into Fediverse clients that blocks the ability of making screenshots/recordings and makes downloading media impossible. As a bonus, we should extend to all posts as well. This will finally solve the scraping and quote/screenshot harassment Fedi has for years.

EDM and genres related to it are all designed to make you lose brain cells with repetitive uninspiring loops that go on forever. The end goal being making the listener feel drugged out by listening to the same loop for three minutes. You cannot change my mind.

I hate how AI has become like Covid 5 years ago. Those that argue about it all the time are naturally split into two camps that can be best described as "the retarded" and "the more retarded", just like the two vaccine camps of yesteryears ("you should get your 6th shot and better not go out without a mask" vs. "You are cattle if you got the vaxxx").
I wish everyone doing this could just shut up about it and return to the "I don't care what you are doing with your life" attitude. I know I'm sometimes guilty of this discourse, but at least I try to keep it to the minimum when this stuff enters my feeds.

I will forever use the pre-slop version of <insert important and large project> is one of the most hypocritical copes ever. Not only will a fraction of the actual people saying that even attempt to do it, but they will inevitably reach the junction of "Do I run an outdated piece of software with a large vulnerability/vulnerabilities, or do I maintain my own patches." At which point the two answers are no and no, so back to running the "slop version" it is.
Have fun applying over a year of security fixes to Linux and core libraries btw. No, even BSDs aren't safe either. :) NetBSD allows LLMs as long as the patch is approved by a core maintainer, OpenBSD already has Claude commits in it via tmux and FreeBSD has an "I don't care" stance.

2026-10-12 23:38:40 UTC

>so just a full vibe, done with the LLM that can’t make a web browser, C compiler, rsync features that aren’t riddled with bugs, or JavaScript runtime
Even humans can't make a web browser, C compiler or a JS runtime without a bunch of bugs either. I think the list of Firefox/Thunderbird/Chromium CVEs every few weeks and the miscompilation bug reports in gcc and LLVM found during testing all the time speak for themselves.

The Project Reclaimer Halo thing looks like the most tourist modding thing I've seen in a long time. Website has a certain vibecoded smell to it, it being in Rust and closed-source only solidifies that feeling. Any serious modding team would already release the sources for the server emulator/client to not waste the work when the inevitable DMCA comes.

The paradox of good documentation: No matter how good your documentation is. The ones that are supposed to read it will simply not do that. The lower the bar the documentation sets, the more "dumb" and already answered questions in the documentation will you get.
