But I am also interested in gardening, nature, and all sorts of crafting (woodworking, sewing, 3D printing, painting etc.)

Found it! A little different to what you were asking though.

They spend untold billions telling us they are the good guys through their media channels.
They own the algorithms that boost pro-billionaire language.
Yet still everyone talks about hating them. They really don’t understand nothing how profoundly we hate them and how much they hurt 99% of the world’s population.

thanks a bunch! Your embroidery is incredible, so precise. Do you do it by hand or a sewing/embroidery machine?

Finished this shacket and gifted to a friend for their birthday.
It’s a thick material and quite stretchy, so some parts were really tricky and required multiple attempts.
Going to go for a canvas-like material when making it for myself instead.
Pattern was from Unfettered designs, and I followed a video from Sew Happy.

as we used to say. You have your first 90% of the project getting everything functional and the second 90% to get it polished

I don’t think a bridge is necessary for that though. As it’s not that APp is exclusionary from a technical standpoint (although it is socially).
My worry is that a bridge will not result in best info and ideas. Instead it will homogenize ideas around a local peak of ‘best’.
With separation we have two local peaks of best and sometimes one side is better, sometimes the other. But we can learn from each other.

purely personally, I don’t see significant value from this.
More people to follow? Don’t care, I don’t follow everyone on mastodon, I’m already missing out gems.
More people follow me? I don’t care, my account isn’t used to drive any economical value.
I can see there being frustrations as protocols fail to work with each other. Or as funded tries to absorb ‘free’.
Or culture shifting towards more hustle due to the nature of ATp being more about money generation.

Our provincial liquor stores buy on consignment (the store doesn’t pay until the goods are sold). They have pulled all US liquor off shelves and are returning to sender.

FYI. In BC, Canada we give rebates to electricity usage for charging your electric car.
Starting today, Teslas are not eligible for the rebate.
Tesla have leased a parking lot near me to deal with people not picking up their orders (people have lost their deposit). In this parking lot are roughly 30 cyber trucks and 50 other Tesla cars. [citation needed for reason, this is the current understanding of people who live nearby]

Can anyone recommend a resource to find good history books?
Right now I’m looking for something about how Vichy France was set up, how it operated/controlled people, and what the repercussions were when France became free again.
Accounts from resistance are good too e.g. how they organised in small communities.
I have found some books, but would love recommendations, or opinions about my selections.

I see zero snow outside my window, not even on rooftops.
But I’m close to sea level. I suspect there would be some lingering in the hillier areas.

never heard of flapjack as a pancake! Where is that from?
This is what I was referring to: https://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/flapjacks_86993
I can’t tell if avalanche bars is a non-brand name krispy treat. Or if the difference is the additions of chocolate nibs, peanut butter.

I made flapjacks yesterday and hoping to make avalanche bars soon which might be the same thing?
Also, rice krispies with cocoa powder and butter make for a good chocolate version! Used to call them ‘ants’ as a kid

I took part in the Crazy Games Jam that ended yesterday. The team and I are very proud of our entry (not publicly playable until after judging period)
But I wanted to share a sort of before and after picture as I feel we did A LOT in a week.

I really really hope the iPhone 16 sales are so catastrophically low that they release a non-AI version.
It might be a big enough brand to actually then push for more AI abandonment. 🤞
